Caustic- Im taking a different approach as taking out something instead of adding another supplement. I dropped Maca about two weeks now let me know you think something conflicts with the other.
Here is a list of everything of what im using:
400 laser helmet(2 months/20mins 3x per week)
Jarrows zinc balance 15 mg(1x per day)
Toco 8
BCm-95/Jarrows Resveratrol
Jarrows Probiotic (2x per day)
Moxxor Omega 3(2x per day)
Green Vibrance Green drink
Vitamin d3 + k2 (1x per day)
iodine 2 drops every morning
Vitamin C (1000mg per day)
Biotin(5mg per day)

Post  The Natural on Fri Jul 03, 2009 11:53 pm

youngbalder, I am presently taking LEF's Super Bio curcumin & Country Life's resveratrol Plus, which equals only two capsules a day (in the morning).

Some questions:

1. Did your shed occur before or after your use of lasers?
2. Does your scalp feel better after using the lasers or after you take the curcumin/resveratrol or both?
3. Has the addition of fish oil helped or hurt your hair?

Youngbalder - Wow, you're going premium on some of those (Moxxor & Toco 8 )

Have you tried Ecklonia Cava and Lipoic acid before? Both of these are strong iron chelators and are in my opinion an essential step to fighting the free-radicals associated with hair loss.

Lastly, you might consider taking a natural source of B-Vitamins (Brewer's Yeast is one example).

tnx curt

Hi Curt,

I guess the short answer to your question would be that I feel my regimen is pretty solid as is, and I didn't want to "disturb things." Since I take a lot of antioxidants already, I fear that I would be overdoing it.

To answer your questions in order
1. My shed occurred (april 17th)mid april when i started using curcumin/resveratrol but keep mind my dandruff is ridiculously bad so i figured that could be the reason my hair was shedding so much getting of all dead weight on my scalp. Then one month after mid May, i started using the laser helmet. I would say its about the same or a little more of a shedding using the Laser Helmet. So im only a 1 1/2 month in using laser treatment.

2. My scalp feels better honestly with the curcumin/reveratrol hands down. From the moment i started taking this combo it was like day and night but like i said the shedding also started from when i started using this combo. My hair was shedding before i started using this combo but not as much due having MPB of course. I cant really say just yet what the laser helmet has done for me because its only been 1 1/2 months.

3. I do not take fish oil and never have. For my EFA and omega 3 i take Moxxor 2 per day as describe on the label. There grape seed extract added to Moxxor as well. Maybe that could be a problem not sure.

I have tried Ecklonia and Lipoic acid along with ALC but the thing is these three for some reason or the other have had a bad reaction on my scalp. I tried seperatley eckolonia recently and my scalp was flaky and then on another occasion i tried Lipoic/Alc and same thing. However i have never tried Lipoic Acid by itself so maybe i might try that seperately to see what effect it would have on my scalp. I definitely will look into brewer's yeast because im not on any type of B- vitamins. When you say im goin premium what on moxxor and toco-8 what do you mean?

youngbalder - Moxxor and Toco-8 are pretty expensive when compared with krill oil and Jarrow's Tocosorb.

Caustic- I figured they are better supplements to use because i actually do have krill oil but Nidhogge recommended Moxxor to me and Toco 8 i figure would be better than the Toco sorb.

The natural , Young balder -

try to refine myregimen for now.
I kind of experiment pimples on my scalp, and sort of "acne" pimples on my body, somewhere somehow...

I wonder if this isn't due to krill+borgage+palm (toco sorb) i take , plus my diet rich in oil ( alonds, olive oiln walnuts etc...)
I definily have to refine a lot more....
and once again, ALA and/or ALC msut also be watch out....

but guys, i definitly think that Ecava gives me headaches/brain fog....ever noticed that ?

Europe- Not sure the krill and borage oil but the effects are the opposite for me on my regimen. My pimples are pretty non existent now on my body and face because the supplements. As ALA/ ALC , whenever i took this combo my scalp would itch a lot and just recently i found that it was actually the ALC only not ALA. As far as Eckolonia Cava, never really gave it fare shot because this was also a contributor to my flaky scalp.

IH--

I spoke to Eric in the past about gelatinization of tocotrienols and he explained that the process of heating into a gel can destroy alot of the nutritional value associated with it, which is why Toco-8 is in pure powder form. It's literally ground up palms.

Also, compare the two labels, and you'll find that PP has a higher concentration of all of the more expensive ingredients in the formulation:

Convinced in everything you say about testosterone, and quite sure BCM delivers. I had some great days. Not sure if it is ideal for androgen induced baldness.

I was wrong about BCM exerting an androgenic effect. This may sound odd, but melatonin was the culprit, which I had commenced at the same time. I seem to get a very potent anti-aromatase effect from it. I've pushed the limit of BCM--thrice daily--with no ill-effect.

Gibson, I don't quite get the deal with the melatonin. What do you mean by exerting androgenic effect ?

melatonin inhibits aromatase.

inhibiting aromatase is pro androgen.

This in itself is not bad, but I dropped melatonin specifically.

Still, I use other aromatase inhibitors, such as 7-HMR, which I feel don't impact my hair.

All said, it is clear to me that using aromatase inhibitors is purely individual. When I was getting sides from PM, regardless of how much calcium d-glucarate, DIM, etc. I dosed on, I was still feeling bloated and hair wasn't affected; conversely, when I have been very lean and clean, popping one calcium D-glucarate could have negative results.
