Body hair loss
A friend of mine is suffering from body hair loss on his legs (additonal to MPB) => Alopecia Areata is the name
if I remember correctly.
As far as I know there are three possible reasons:
- thyroid => he was checked by two different doctor's. No disorder (I've seen his thyroid levels, in my opinion ok).
- gastrointestinal tract => no candida, no Crohn's disease
- autoimmune-system
Any ideas?

Re: Body hair loss
Crusher - You might suggest to him to go wheat and gluten free for a few months and see if there is any improvement. He may have alopecia universalis or universal body hair loss form of AA.
What is known is that a significant number of AA and AU patient have higher levels of T-helper 1 cytokines, Inf-gamma.
I would also suggest two supplements (1) N-Acetyl Cysteine and (2) Sulforaphane. Both of these together upregulate T-helper 1 immunity and restore of redox equilibrium.

Body hair loss
CS, I'll tell him.
Thanks for answering!
(Yes, I know, body hair loss is a undelightful and very specific theme)
One more question: What do you think, is chlamydia or/and mycoplasma involved?

Re: Body hair loss
Amen Lund! I can't stand the leg and ass hair. My upper body isn't that hairy but I don't think most girls like a guy with an ass sweater! Plus I've got hair that grows out of weird place like my ear lobe now!? WTF? I have a suspicion that minoxidil caused it. At one point I was taking minoxidil orally. Talk about body hair growth.

No man it aint Minox - I got it too from the ear (LOL) and I never did Minox...as we lose it from the top, it comes from somwhere else. Someone needs to tell the divine entity to move it back to the top....

Re: Body hair loss
Does anyone know of a theory for this other than it's for god's amusement? I mean for the love of baby Jesus, there has to be some reason why I have to shave and or pluck my ears!
