Muira puama
I'm been doing a bit of research into Muira puama. Sounds like it is good for increasing libido, enhancing mood, improving memory and...growing hair
Has anyone tried this with positive or negative effects, or read good or bad things about it? Thanks.

Re: Muira puama
Ataman,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
From what I've been reading about it, it looks to actually be a preventative for MPB, rather than a hair regrowth agent. Here's a good link with a lot of info. on this herb:
http://www.rain-tree.com/muirapuama.htm
However, it looks like taking pills/capsules won't do the trick. From the above article:
"To achieve the libido and potency effects of this particular plant, proper preparation methods must be employed. The active constituents thought to be responsible for muira puama's potency and libido effect are not soluble in water - taking bark or root powder in capsules or tablets will not be effective because these chemical cannot be digested or absorbed. High heat for at least 20 minutes with alcohol is necessary to free the volatile and essential oils, terpenes, gums, and resins found in the bark and root which have been linked to muira puama's beneficial effects."

Nidhogge - Yes, I haven't seen any info on the mechanism by which this is supposed to work, but I do like the sound of it.
It does seem quite expensive on that website - $22 for a 1 mo supply. I had a look on iHerb and there's a brand that sounds that same but is a fair bit less ($13) - http://www.iherb.com/Muira-Puama-2-fl-oz-60-ml/4770?at=0
Misirlou - I think either that (might not taste too good?), or another website says you should add to warm water to make a tea out of it. I guess experiment and see.

Or even cheaper
(twice the size)...

Some good adverts for the libido side of things, and one guy 'alex' says he grew hair (its not a hair-related website). Ignore all the advertisements and scroll to the forum half way down the page.
