Something wrong - need advice / help
Something is wrong with me, and I'm not sure what it is.
I moved into a new house at the beginning of September. For the past couple of months I have not felt quite right.
For the prior nine months before moving into this house, I would work out 5-6 times a week. I would go to bed around 11pm-midnight and would wake up around 730am feeling refreshed and not able to sleep anymore if I wanted to.
These days I am constantly tired, I can sleep 10+ hours and still struggle to get out of bed. Then I drag through the day and can't bring myself to workout. I have been working out maybe once a week max. When I do workout, I am sore for a week.
My sinuses have been awful. They are constantly stuffed and I am constantly blowing them. I have trouble sleeping because of them.I had never had allergies in my life up until a few months ago and then since I've moved into this house, my sinuses have been terrible. There is carpeting all over the house.
Could constant allergies be taxing my system causing me to feel fatigued all the time?

Re: Something wrong - need advice / help
My supplement regimen is the following:
Resveratrol
Circumin
ALC
R-ALA
Jarrows Probiotic
Krill Oil
EGCG
Vitamin D
Alpha-Yohimbine
Eccklonia Cava
Magnesium
Quercetin
Ashwaganda
Liv52
Beta _ Alanine (pre-workout)
Glutmanine (post-workout)
Colostrum
Brewers Yeast
The colostrum, glutamine and brewers yeast are relatively new additions - could one of them be causing some kind of reaction?
The Alpha-Yohimbine seems to cause sinus issues in some people. I'm going to drop it and see if I notice improvement.

Re: Something wrong - need advice / help
The other thought I have is that my sinuses and fatigue are unrelated.
One other variable is that I had been using a product called "Stim Extreme" once a day for about 2.5 months. I had been using only half a capsule in the morning because a full capsule was just too strong for me. I ran out so I have not used it for the past couple of weeks.
Perhaps I am having some sort of withdrawal from the stuff?
Perhaps I have adrenal fatigue and triggered it back into action by using stimulants again? (I don't drink coffee - only green tea).
However, in the past for many years I abused caffeine and alcohol and I have a very stressful job, so I am sure that my adrenals are toast.

Re: Something wrong - need advice / help
Scotty -- Definitely drop the Alpha Y. That blocked my sinuses up and hurt my breathing like nothing else. I could only breathe through my mouth on that stuff. It was not a good experience.
I'll let IH weigh in on the rest, but I know from experience that Alpha Y made me miserable with the sinus problems.
As for the new house/carpeting issue you may be on to something. I had friends who bought a new place that had hidden toxic mold. They went from healthy looking people to zombies in a matter of months.
Do you own the house? Can you pull up the carpeting? Are there nice floors underneath?
If it's a rental, you may want to try to get the landlord to deep clean them or something.
I will say this -- your issues with frequency of workouts right now could be the whole problem. When I don't force myself to go after missing a few days I turn to mush. I basically want to stay home and eat carbs and watch TV with a blanket over me.
There are times when your mind and body are going to fight you from going to workout and you have to push through those times and go to the gym.
Make yourself go for a couple of weeks and then come back in here and tell me how you feel.
I always feel like once you go two days in a row, you're usually back on track until something comes along that inevitably sidetracks you.
I feel like a completely different person when I'm working out regularly and when I'm not.

scottyc33 - I think hadrion made some really good points, and the only thing I could add would be, do you live close to power lines? Everything from toxic mold, as hadrion pointed out, to nearby power lines, to the house electrical system, to the carpet, or hidden chemical residues.
Or maybe it is from the Slim Extreme. Take a look at this:

Watch your blood pressure if you're constantly taking yohimbe.

Scotty, my man you try so many things that it would be hard to pin point what may be causing this. You may want to exclude just about all the supplements and bring them back in one by one over the course of next 4-6 weeks. Just eat healthy (as you probably are during this time) and let your body tell you the trigger.
Adrenals usually go overtime - kind of slow death. So if this change for you has been sudden, there will be some other trigger (even if it is adrenal related).

i think it is mold and related to your new home: those are precisely the symptoms. spend a few days at someone else's flat and see if you start to recover.

There was mold in the attic that was "remediated" before I bought the place.
I wonder if some spores are still circulating around the house?
My gf has lived here for a month and has not shown any side effects as of yet.

If it is mold - you can have it professionally checked. I think they come and check the air and do the analysis, but kind of pricey...

people have different sensitivities to it. when you read about the severe cases, sometimes it is a couple and just the wife is very ill, for instance. the spores spread and don't have to be visible to reek havoc.
if this is the case for you, i empathize. i have recently come to terms with the fact that I must move because mold is destroying my quality of life. it's like fighting an invisible opponent, and i am now beginning to get asthma symptoms. when i talk about it to most, unless they are educated about mold, they listen with disbelief because i look very healthy. For a long time, I assumed something was wrong with me. it's also a tough case to win in court; i have just started to litigate, but don't expect to win.

If it happens to be toxic mold, the best treatment that I know of is HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy).

Gibson - have you tried any air sterilizers?
I am thinking about getting this one:

Scotty,
The symptoms you are having are detoxification and allergy related, due to the supplement you are taking. I have felt them too many times before so I'm pretty sure of what I'm telling you.
DROP ALL supplements and in one or two days you'll see a dramatic improvement/recovery.
Add the supplements back one by one slowly, and monitor your symptoms. You'll find what you can't tolerate that way (at least for now, possibly due to detoxification).

I own that one. I've also owned the $700 IQ Air, but i sold it because I got tired of spending $250 for replacement filters and not getting relief.
The Airfree is pretty good. I noticed a difference when i got it, and touted it as a great product for a while. Unfortunately, the vent in my bathroom isn't working well and humidity has risen in my apartment as a result, and that air cleaner seems to be not doing the trick anymore.
Currently, I am looking into getting dehumidifiers, as well.
Are your glands in your neck swollen at all?
