Took the plunge and tried out thyroid boost. Been on it a week. No negatives, only benefits so far. Best form of iodine I have supplemented with so far. Really great product.

Man, my energy went through the roof when I was taking 8 pills a day, but I just ran out. Sad

Try tapering to 6 to get extended benefits, I typically recommend 8 a day for a week, then 6 for 3 months, then 3 after that (I think this is on the label). You have to really tinker with it yourself though (dosages), as everybody's thyroid is different.

Very happy that you're thrilled with the product! It's a beast!

Is this a safer and just as beneficial option than Nascent Iodine? I've read some miraculous things about Nascent but the way it has to be used and tweaked due to side effects scares me.

To my knowledge it seems to be the most tolerated due to being organically bound and complexed with other nutrients which support each other.

How about Lugol's? I had negative reactions to both kelp iodine (Now brand, 325 mcg, not mg) and just 1 drop of Lugol's solution (2.5 mg iodine). I felt fatigued, my hair became very thin, and hair loss doubled within two days. Have you seen any negative reports from this product?

Also, does seaweed product help with thyroid function as well?

When in doubt, a whole food form is a safer way to evaluate it. Iodine that is inorganic, such as lugols needs to be converted in to the organic form, some people cannot do this without co-factors.

Also, about 1 out of a 100 people have a high sensitivity to iodine, and you are probably one of them given the reaction to a small about as 325 mcg.

There maybe other mitigating circumstances... Regardless of which form tried, use a small amount, following with magnesium and/or salt loading if there are any problems.

Thanks for your response CS. I think I have either iodine sensitivity or other conditions that make me sensitive to iodine like heavy metal toxicity. I am also sensitive to vitamin B's in general, especially B6. I've tried both regular and active form of B6 and both give me severe shedding strangely.

I am currently using Lugol's and have recently bought Morningstar Immune Boost. Am I getting enough iodine or is this necessary?

If you use Lugol's or Iosol, then yes you're getting plenty of iodine. Iosol generally works better than Lugol's and for those who are ultra iodine sensitive, then Thyroid Boost would be a safer option.

Could Thyroid Boost be an adequate replacement for a natural Multi-Mineral/Vitamin?

It helps replace some minerals but not all. For example, some need additional magnesium.

Hi CS,

I see you use the brand Modifilan in your thyroid boost product. Can you please tell me if it really contain iodine ? And if so the amount ? I ask because modifilan is actually not an extract. Its a gel concentrated into alginate wich is great but not the purpose intented with a "thyroid boost" product isnt ?

There is organically bound iodine in there, approximately. 3.5 milligrams per 3 capsules.

Laminaria Japonica is a pro hair substance, and besides the organically bound iodine it also has all of the co-factors. It is what helped the people during the Chernobyl disaster recover from radiation poisoning. The alginate is important (it binds to positively charged particles) and improves the function--thyroid by that way as well as the iodine producing thyroid hormones.

This is well tolerated by even the most sensitive to iodine types.

How does Thyroid Boost compares to Norwegian Kelp? We have huge marketing in our country about how Norwegian Kelp is a great source of Iodine and contains Iodine in large quantities, so people think Kelp will help all their Thyroid problems, but they don't realize the amount of Iodine is marginal and simply doesn't have therapeutic dosages.  Does the Kombu Seaweed Iodine absorbs more and is more effective at facilitating the Thyroid problems in the body than Kelp?

Why do you state that Thyroid Boost is harvested in Siberia, if it is from USA Modifilan suppliers which harvest in Patagonia. Biofilam is the only brand that harvest in Russia and based on reviews Biofilam is superior product.
