There are better de-calcifiers and de-fibrosis agents out there.

I have listed them all here with reasoning too.

You can get OptiMSM both with and without silicon dioxide:

Source Naturals, for example, is a source of OptiMSM without silicon dioxide:

On their site, they state the opposite that silicon dioxide doesn't present a problem.

"There have been some misconceptions about silicon dioxide suggesting it blocks the absorption of nutrients. Silicon dioxide is not absorbed in the intestinal tract. When consumed, silicon dioxide is non-toxic and effective in maintaining supplement quality.

A preliminary study found that OptiMSMŪ containing 0.5% silicon dioxide had a bioavailability of 100 percent. This demonstrated absorption was not inhibited by including silicon dioxide."

OptiMSMŪ Flakes also do or do not contain silicon dioxide, it depends if the silicon dioxide is later added by the distributor.

Can you give a study where they found out that fillers, binders, flow agents reduce MSM bioavailability to 15%?

Based on trial and error, I do not bother with getting "pure" stuff anymore... Why? Whether is absorbs better or not is not the issue..it's two thing, as least from my perspective. Does it work and how easy is it to do.

Based on an on going private study, people tend to get better health benefits from the pure stuff. However, I find it excessively bitter and not very convenient. So I go for convenience at this point. It still works.

All five star reviews, impressive! I would not have guessed tablets of MSM could work so well. I agree the powder is hard to take. May go for this myself.

Hi there CS, I have a small question; I like MSM and use it topically on my face, all I do is put some distilled water in a cup and a little bit of MSM powder and mix it. The water looks clear so I assume it's all mixed, then I take a cotton ball and apply it to my face-Is this effective, is it actually doing anything? I mean is it penetrating the skin? I want to make a hairspray with distilled water and MSM and vitamin C powder as well and just want some thoughts on ways to use MSM powder topically.

Thanks

If you try that, just use pure MSM (the vitamin C can oxidize in the sun). Yes it will absorb.

You have put a lot of emphasis in the past that you should not use it around the meal, with other supplements and especially not in a tablet form or capsules, and stated that you didn't get good results with MSM when you took it in poor quality or in wrong forms. Now you are using a product that is full of fillers and you say it doesn't really matter. Sorry but I don't understand.

It absorbs poorly with expedients or with a meal (15% instead of 85 to 90%), but if it tastes bitter, would prefer to go the easy route.
