Sagging skin, moisture or collagen?

Post  RKERR9 on Thu May 14, 2015 1:42 am

Hi guys

I'm trying to overhaul my image at the moment. Dumped by a girl blah blah 😃
Wondering what you think about sagging skin, particularly forehead and eyebrows and crows feet. Looking into face excercises, but not sure if it's collagen or related to moisture, maybe boosting thyroid might help? Happy to look at dermarolling or whatever gives best results. I'm just interested in anyone's thoughts about more youthful looking skin, can you make a noticeable difference in a few months time? A big cause for me is stress and much of the stress I'm under is anxiety related but I've basically given up on a quick fix to that and I think it means retraining my nervous system and thoughts etc.

In other news, DT and MSM have really slowed down my hairloss. So that's positive!

Thanks

Tom Hagerty's scalp exercise will help forehead and eyebrows as well as hair. I'm doing it for the facial improvement and it's helping.
You ought to check out his Shape Your Face site for more exercises. Face exercise works! He is a good example, I think he's over 70 and his
face is still pretty tight.

Diatomaceous earth boosts collagen and also is a hair helper.

CS, do you have any updates on these articles?

I'm looking for a skin cream for just around my eyes and you have some suggestions in the articles from 2009. Do you know of any specific products that have these ingredients? What about dermarolling?

For the longest time I didn't have any particular topical approach for my skin. Now I've come up with a few things that are having
a definite effect.

After cleansing I apply this:

Then in the palm of my hand, I mix a bit of ascorbic acid crystals into a dab of this niacinamide serum and apply that on top of the gel.

"What is effective is the fat soluble form of vitamin C, which is known as Ascorbyl Palmitate. This is also called Vitamin C-Ester, not to be confused with Ester-C. So to avoid this confusion, just look for Ascorbyl Palmitate instead.

In fact, the best thing to look for topically is a cream that contains not only Ascorbyl Palmitate, but also Acetyl Hexapeptide-3, otherwise known as Argireline. Still there are two other ingredients to look for, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide, known as Matrixyl and finally Pycnogenol. This formula is the same as Dr. Perricone's serum and if you look around it can be found without the Perricone name and without the high cost of his products.

There are other creams and serums as well with ingredients such as DMAE, lipoic acid, hyaluronic acid and green tea extract. Withever you choose, look for a brand that is free of parabens."

Is Perricone serum still a good choice? There are some people saying his products are carcinogenic.

Hi, happy to hear that DT is helping with your hair, why not use it for your face skin also ? When I treat my scalp with essential oils like tea tree, bergamont, turmeric, peppermint, or enzyme cleanses I also treat my face. Then I take a basic oil like neem, olive, or jojoba and massage my face and forehead with my fingers. Of course it improves the blood flow and strengthens the skin.
I am careful to not crease or further wrinkle the skin too much. Especially under the eyes I swipe press from the nose to the outer corner of the eyes. I press a bit deeply even pressing on the eyeball a bit through the lower lid. This previously would bruise this thin skin, but now the skin is stronger and much healthier looking. My forehead wrinkles are a bit less, and for sure the circles under my eyes look healthier. I run my fingers over the crows feet also, and I think they look better.
Exercises are for the muscles, massage is for the skin. Obese people use a lot of muscles to get around, but it does not help the skin quality. To bring blood flow to an area use diluted hot oils like cinnamon, and massage the area with pressure.

I just eat a lot of fish, drink a lot of water and take a dedicated Astaxanthin supplement and I'm 25 but get mistaken for 19 whenever I've successfully masked my hair loss. Give it a try maybe. The Astaxanthin gives me a healthy, subtle glow, but it is pricy.

Just ordered some of the G5 silica gel, curious!

I currently use Aloe Vera juice as my moisturiser which works great: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00205E63U/ref=pe_385721_37038051_TE_3p_dp_1
