Liquid Coffee Concentrate on scalp for growth?

Post  dq139 on Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:27 am

hey guys,

I read online in a study that caffeine triggers hair growth even in follicles affected by DHT & inflammation.

I found this Coffee extract on amazon and was wondering if I applied this everyday to my scalp could this trigger regrowth?

Link: http://www.amazon.com/Espresso-Liquid-Coffee-Concentrate-Bottle/dp/B0153MYWOO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448565204&sr=8-1&keywords=dark+coffee+concentrate

Im just wondering if too much exposure to caffeine will irritate the scalp and cause a massive shed which I want to avoid at all costs.

I would mix the coffee extract into a oil mixture of: Olive oil Rosemary Emu oil and a few other Indian hair oils like Bhringraj Amla ect...then shampoo my hair after its been in my scalp for a long time.

I figure that if I have the time to massage this into my scalp everyday I will do it because I am currently trying to raise my testosterone & DHT daily through excersize and diet, so if DHT & inflammation can affect my scalp daily then it needs to be combated everyday am I right?

Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks for the help!

It's an incredible topical for hair growth, perhaps the best. It will also synergise with other ingredients to potentiate them

However this forum does not generally believe the DHT theory.
if anything caffeine would enhance DHT and make it more effective

you could support idealabs who sell a caffeine topical

I agree that DHT is not the main culprit. But don't you think there is a correlation with super masculine hairy men and seeing that most of them have sometype of receding hairline or are bald all together? And you also see sort of feminine men with not so much or almost no hair on their bodies have good heads of hair until old age.
So there has to be some sort of correlation here.

I think the main culprits are probably inflammation, with calcification, fibrosis & Stress (Cortisol). But I bet they are all intertwined.
I bet that lowering Inflammation or cortisol in the body will lower systemic DHT at the same time.
I think male pattern baldness is just a genetic predisposition to Inflammation, hypertension, stress & Artery calcification/fibrosis. Not DHT so to speak. But I think a good amount of DHT may enhance inflammation in the body & cause over aggression & hypertension possibly.
That's just my take on it from observing all of these hair loss forums.

Any way, I couldn't find the Caffeine hair topical on the "Idealabs site". Maybe they discontinued it?
I wanted to try Alpecin caffeine topical, but when I saw the terrible ingredient list in it I changed my mind lol.
I would be glad to find a caffeine topical that was atleast mostly natural. I would definitely try and stick with it for some time.

And lastly, about Caffeine making DHT more powerfull/effective, that's a pretty scary analogy lol, but Il try it out and see what happens.

it is called solban, and is a mixture of aspirin, naicinamide and caffeine

as DHT makes you manly, enhancing DHT is a good thing.

"I posted a study on relatively low doses of caffeine raising T and DHT levels. I suspected that this may occur through the enhancement of 5-AR and did some digging. There is in fact a study that supports my thinking, and it seems caffeine is in fact a 5-AR enhancer. If true, this is really good news b/c in addition to raising DHT caffeine should also raise the levels of pregnenolone, DHEA and progesterone in the brain, which is exactly what most people with neurological and mental issues need.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/477622

"...Diencephalon 5 alpha-reductase activity showed a highly significant increase (p less than 0.01) after a single administration of carbamazepine, reserpine, diazepam, phenytoin, phenobarbital or disulfiram. A significant increase (p less than 0.05) was also found after a single administration of methylphenidate, caffeine or methamphetamine.""

You can only dissolve caffeine at around 1.5% in ethanol or water (less than that to be practical).

Do you know of any better solvent for caffeine?

I've also seen an article and studies online stating that the caffeine in coffee can trigger hair growth. I would give it a try and if you feel any irritation stop using it.
