Regrowth Photos DT-CPR method

Post  cdto2012 on Thu Dec 10, 2015 1:31 pm

Hello,    some of you may have seen the progressive photos on the thread "detumescence really works."  There is detailed the method, theory of why it works, and refinements. I joined the discussion on this page .
page 4
http://immortalhair.forumandco.com/t10798p45-detumescence-really-works
In the next post I will do a overview of the method, first I want to get all of these photos properly uploaded. Basically I renamed the method "DT-CPR" to distinguish the treatment. This is not a casual head massage. This is a deep pressing of the scalp to get the blood and oxygen flowing to the follicles. I need to use the rounded ends of a plastic vitamin bottle with 2 hands to get the effective pressure, as normal finger pressure is not enough. This is more in the thinking of needling where there is a mild micro bruising triggering and healing regeneration response. I do not see bruise marks when treating. On the other thread I detailed how this can rebuild new capillaries and direct stem cell regeneration.  Also I use enzyme therapy for deep exfoliation, and essential oils.
The amazing speed of the regrow might have to do with the 13 day juice cleanse I did right before starting. Also I massage 3 times a day 20- 30 minutes of intense pressure. This adds up to around 10 hours per week.
For the photos, if they are not opening in a new tab use your right click menu. I started the treatment October 16th. So now it is about a month and 3 weeks into the process and all of the photos posted today are from last night (with the exception of the "before" photos).
I have uploaded many so different sides and areas can be shown in focus.  Basically my entire original hairline has started regrowing at different stages of progress.  Here are the basic before photos.

http://i68.servimg.com/u/f68/19/35/15/42/20151131.jpg

The next photos are mostly of the 2 side temple areas. I focused on this area because it is so isolated and easy to keep track of true lengthening.  My very first online photos were posted a few weeks as the fuzz lengthened. Then on Nov 6th (3 weeks into treatment) I shaved the growth. So what you see now is the rate of regrow since the last 5 weeks. I see no clues that this rate is slowing and I can see that many hairs are headed toward full restoration already. You may notice the 500 grafts I have on the top of my head. This temple area started regrowth  in the areas right above the blood vessels that bulge when I do the massage.

I assume the crown area is regrowing also, I do not pay much attention to it, as it is hard to see.  I do massage it also. If you are interested in the treatment please do me the favor of reading the 12 pages on the old thread. Plenty of time went into documenting every step of the treatment and it is not something that I want to rewrite. It is not just fluff writing either, there is some very useful info there.

For me I think that there is a good possibility that with time I could have a full restoration of my original hairline and thickness.

Basic Method

Post  cdto2012 on Thu Dec 10, 2015 1:53 pm

The treatment is pretty simple.  Use a rounded plastic object to press the scalp and make small circles on the skull. Do not pinch and do not friction rub the skin.  I like to use cinnamon oil (never right after shower-too hot) to stimulate blood flow, and olive or jojoba oil to do the massage with. Two times a day I use tea tree oil to treat and prevent hair demodex mites. I move the plastic vitamin bottle rounded edges inch by inch across my scalp and press deeply and make a small circle. As the treatment progresses the soreness should lessen. I always continue until I can see the veins bulge. I aim for 3 times a day 20-30 minutes. I do the entire scalp, as the blood needs to be surface routed to the ares in need.
For the enzyme treatment , easiest is meat tenderizer with honey mix. The active ingredients are papain and bromelain . Leave this on for 3 hours once a week.
You can start out with softer pressure. You should build up pressure especially on the sore areas. You can use your fingers to start out with. I still drink a few liters of fruit juice each day. I eat a lot of ginger dishes and some spicy foods. I have made green vegetable juice with carrot every other day for the last few years.
For the first 2 weeks I did not use too much oil, and focused on pressing out the sticky sebum (oils and waters) from the scalp.
Well so far so good for a treatment that is simple, inexpensive, and shows quick results with no shed. I hope others can have success also.

Yes!! The first picture in your graft area shows the vellus hairs getting long. That's how it happened for me. At the 3 month mark, you should see groups of terminal hairs coming in, most likely the best results coming out in patches off your current hairline, although you should see sporadic terminal hairs across the entire area you are working. I always saw the best results happening near the hairline as it began to spread back across the scalp. That is where to watch closest.

I will tell you this. What you are doing is working. DO NOT try to improve or improvise on what you are doing. You have it. Now it's just time and perseverance. I posted to the other thread a little while ago on what not to do.

Those are really impressive results thank you for sharing. Have you ever tried using two plastic bottles (one in each hand)? I tried it after reading your post and combined the circular motions with a pinching motion between the two bottles. If nothing else, it doubles the area being covered at each session. Curious if you ever tried it and whether or not it works as well. Thanks for all the info and please keep us updated. - LL

Thanks for the encouragement and guidance Drex. There are not many people out there with your success and experience.

lookalike- glad to see you are motivated and creative. Fortunately there are variations of massage that have worked for others, so your idea sounds viable. One poster did complain of a big crease on his scalp after massaging. I see that thick skin tends to crease in the same place often, and can cause possibly permanent wrinkles. For this reason I recommend people stick to pressing and avoid pinching.
After a few weeks I wanted the hard pressure of both hands on the bottle. I even used the hard round corner of my phone charger while on vacation and liked the pressure it delivered. At the correct pressure the oils are pressed out, I think the mites hiding in the follicles are crushed, and the healing regeneration is stimulated. The skin is less sore, and quickly you can feel the old existing hairs feel bouncier and healthier to the touch.

Excellent write up!  This is what I was waiting for!

I'm still using my knuckles though, I can get a pretty good, forceful pressure like that. I use knuckles on both hands too as a kneading motion.

I wonder though, especially when I massage my temples, is it possible that the kneading motions creating pull on the forehead could somehow be bad for the facial skin, perhaps making it sag or wrinkle or get too loose over time?

Please report when you have full head of hair - there is nothing visible to untrained eye-

That's not gonna happen in my lifetime, but please prove me wrong.

This is really interesting to me, because earlier this year I was doing basically the same thing you outlined here. I used my knuckles and pressed very hard, all over the hairline area, up into the crown, and it left these noticeable 'craters' in my scalp. If I pressed down hard right next to the edge of these craters, almost like putty, they would deform, almost like I could manipulate the shape of these craters, if that makes sense. So when you press very hard, you realize you almost have a tough putty-like substance beneath the skin. The skin itself is mobile, but not the substance beneath it.

When I first began this, I noticed a few shard-type bits that broke up, floating below the skin surface. They were almost sharp, like a grain of sand just below the skin, and I could knead it around my scalp. However I could never make it break the surface to see what it was. Also, by doing this heavy kneading/pressing, I managed to deflate a thicker, bubble-type section of scalp at the front-center hairline. Literally, I kneaded and pressed this thick "bubble" of substance all around, dispersing it into the rest of my scalp. Now it feels flatter and closer to the bone, with no ill effects.

I started looking for stronger methods of doing this as well, and yes I've used a bottle edge, but then I decided to try the edge of my nightstand (no joke!). It's bedside, easily accessible since you're laying down, is very stable, and doesn't require your hands much, so you can use your body to drive your scalp into the corner edge of the nightstand. Doing this produced big effects- deeper straight, large dents, and just move your head a little at a time to produce a straight-edge dent every quarter-inch or whatnot. Then I tilted my head, and pressed it against the nightstand in another direction, as to cross-hatch the area. Now I don't know whether or not it is more effective, but it definitely digs in deeper than using your hands as a force, however it doesn't cover as much effective area overall as the bottle method.

My scalp and hair definitely felt more alive doing these, but I didn't have the expelling of any substances from my skin though, just the movement of whatever is beneath the skin. I use past tense here because I kept it up for awhile and got bored with it. This topic has ignited my interest again to continue, so thanks for that!

Thanks for the interesting post and great subject.

I'm not sure if I got your technique right. When you say you use vitamin bottles, are you holding the bottles by the top side(its cap) and massaging with the bottom of the bottle at an angle (which would be its circular edge) or are you holding it sideways and massaging using it laterally(which would be possible to even roll over your scalp)?

Glad to see others have worked with deep pressing and have had no distressing reports. I think people are interested in increased shed, as I have a theory that it may not be necessary for some treatments. As for the pressed out gunk, it feels sticky or tacky when a bit of moisture is on it. If there is no moisture I did not notice it at times.
I will add the importance of the 3 times a day approach. It is the bulging of the vessels that feeds the follicles. Even if you do not have time for a full treatment, give the 5-10 minutes to get the vessels to visibly bulge.
As for the reliability of pictures, I am also looking forward to the lengthening to continue at this rate. I hope to do a full follow up, but my life is unusual and complex, and I could be offline at any time. Fortunately this is a simple process and others will also have results to report.
For loose skin, wrinkling the forehead to look up at the hairline often is a concern. I am not convinced that pressing with small circles stretches the skin much. I would guess it would be firming the skin while breaking up fibrosis, calcification, and causes of inflammation. Healthy skin, like with babies does not permanently wrinkle even if it is loose.
The bottle method,  I use the bottom rounded edge to press to the scalp. I angle the bottle and use only one contact point. I hold the bottle with the 2 hands to get the pressure desired. As Smurfy noted, you can see the indentations in the top of the scalp often, then you know the pressure is enough.  For the forehead or other sensitive areas, it is fine to use the sides of the bottle to start out with.  I like to roll with the sides on my forehead sometimes. As the soreness lessens the bottom of the bottle full pressure is the goal for all areas of the scalp.
I will add a detail for those guys that are trying abstinence to treat hairloss. I am not refraining from women. I also had cut out dairy, wheat and most grains from my diet. I travel often, and added cheese and bread during this last few weeks, does not seem to effect much.

One of interesting thing that is noted when massages such as these are done is the soreness. Not a soreness due to the massage, but, a tightness that the massage exposes. Simply pressing down the bottle on the scalp, and you feel a painlike sensation. My assumption is that the pain is due to the tightness and lack of lymphatic drainage and bad blood circulation. I almost feel that these areas where I feel the pain most upon pressing down, are exactly the areas that need pressed down with an hard object like the bottle. Would it be correct to assume that continually massaging and pressing down on those areas that are painful, eventually will loosing up and won't be painful anymore?

Also, does the simple act of pushing down (on to those painful areas) do something as well, like make it get better?

It's extraordinary, it seems like there is incredible amount of tightness on the scalp, but we don't notice it until be take a hard object and press it hard on our heads.

Yes the soreness is from the inflammation and the skin being deprived. As you continue I found that the soreness does decrease dramatically. Make sure to treat for mites, tea tree or other topical. Also the soreness may be from calcium crystals being broken up.

If you want scientific reasons for why this works, take some time to read through the other thread that I linked to in the first post. It has to do with micro wounding, repair and regeneration biology.

I will repost this, as it is a relevant core of micro wound regeneration research. This along with other detailed research is on my first post link .

From a thread that Caustic Symmetry posted the original study on regrowth.
http://immortalhair.forumandco.com/t11684-the-effect-of-platelet-rich-plasma-in-hair-regrowth-a-randomized-placebo-controlled-trial

I wrote
To fill in the research on concentrated platelets and needling. Basically the body responds to injury of bruising with a concentration of blood platlet cells to heal the wound. Part of this healing process is to release growth factors that stimulate new cells to be made and direct available stem cells to strengthen the tissue and create new capillaries. Basically wounding stimulates regeneration of the tissue with new cells and blood flow capillaries.

"Although blood is mainly a liquid (called plasma), it also contains small solid components (red cells, white cells, and platelets.) The platelets are best known for their importance in clotting blood. However, platelets also contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors which are very important in the healing of injuries. "

http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00648

"Platelet derived growth factors' main functions are to stimulate cell replication (mitogenesis) of healing capable stem cells and what are also called pre-mitotic partially differentiated osteoprogenitor cells which are also part of the connective tissue-bone healing cellular composite. It also stimulates cell replication of endothelial cells. This will cause budding of new capillaries into the wound (angiogenesis), a fundamental part of all wound healing. In addition, PDGF seems to promote the migration of perivascular healing capable cells into a wound and to modulate the effects of other growth factors. "

http://www.perfusion.com/cgi-bin/absolutenm/templates/articledisplay.asp?articleid=1678&#.VlNX83Ighb8

I have personally found this to be useful for hair regrowth with needling. I also find that strong pressure massage also triggers the regeneration response and regrows hair without concern that needles could further irritate or micro scar depleted skin. Also I find that the deep massage can reach much deeper subdermal layers for regeneration.

So I guess the question is, why do mpb sufferers have that soreness and tightness and not other people. The manual methods are a good angle to tackle this but not very practical. Does it all come down to auto immune disorder? And if this the case would medicine for auto immune disorder fix the soreness and tightness? But somehow I feel it wouldn't work without a mechanical i.e. manual method solution.

Re: Regrowth Photos DT-CPR method

Post  cdto2012 on Sat Dec 12, 2015 2:10 am

We have some very well studied posters around, hopefully they will join in with some theories. For this DT-CPR method it is a 2 step process.  First is the detox and recovery. As a simple 2 week treatment alone it has value to prep the scalp for any future treatments.  Second is the stage where you are comfortable to use enough pressure to do the micro wounding regeneration for the long term.
The interesting thing about this treatment is that I think it is a way to normalize the scalp, meaning reversing the damaged depleted and inflamed condition.  Whatever set in motion the degradation of the scalp is not enough to make the rest of the body bald, or prevent scalp regrowth.  I am sure the factors are many,  but the restoration of active blood flow is my first observation for recovery.   As a bedsore degrades with lack of blood flow, the scalp becomes like a mange, battling mites , bacteria, toxins, and closes the follicles to repel the invasion - so close to the blood flow to the brain.
So there may be a minor source, with an avalanche of symptoms that occur with depleted skin. So for treating, perhaps the restoration can begin with a simple change.  I say this with observation, because it was like a grow now switch was flipped.  Just such a sudden change that showed up in weeks, not months.
As I review a few of the treatments out there they seem like they are trying to remotely do what can be done directly with massage. Things like breaking up calcium deposits, softening and removing fibrosis, enhancing blood flow,  removing toxins that inflame, etc..
Fortunately I am not the only one with results, and hopefully many others can get results for themselves.

Fortunately it was pretty simple. Orange, red grape, and prune juice . After day 8 I added a green vegetable and carrot juice every other day. Sometimes I would take a squirt of lemon juice. The point of the cleanse was mostly to empty the colon completely, this can take 10 days. At times I would use a senna laxitive, but if you are not experienced with these go slowly, but they speed up the results. I used store bought not organic juices (of course organic or fresh squeezed is better). I will say the health benefits to my immune system are dramatic and I continue with 2 liters of juice daily now. The total fast was 13 days.

Eyes check? All he did was post a bunch of close up pics. I can bet my left nut, those hair has always been there. Like I said, I can take a bunch of close up pics of my face at an angle, you will see vellus hairs. Does that mean I'm going to turn into a dam gorilla? lol

Re: Regrowth Photos DT-CPR method

Post  cdto2012 on Mon Dec 14, 2015 6:04 pm

The reason for these photos is just to document the rate of continuous growth and lengthening. I wanted to post these hairs in a developing stage so they so not look like ordinary hairs. Some of the vellus hairs have already turned to normal thickness hairs near the hairline, but it is then hard to tell what is new, growing, pre-existed, or is thinning and will fall out.
These photos are in the context of the linked previous week by week photos trying to show the grow rate in an isolated temple area. The only real questions for me is
1. are the hairs lengthening and thickening ?
2. are the hairs going to prematurely limit lengthening and be limited to miniaturized hairs?

I claim that the photos are the shaved to displayed length in 5 weeks on the temples. In a few (5) more weeks we can expect the length to be about double. This is not a complex science or method and should give clear results if I can stay online to post. Otherwise I hope you do not check back if you are not interested in seeing developing hairs, and are just interested in seeing fully developed heads of hair. Really these are free methods, nothing for sale, and I really do not know what you expect. If you think that lengthening  of fuzz that has not grown in 15 years is totally ordinary, please post your pictures and method too.

Anyhow I did a post mostly for people that want  to document for themselves or post progress online,  It covers the importance of lighting and to oil the hairs to catch the light and stand up so they can be photographed. It is so important to be able to measure the progress and a simple cell phone camera is a great tool for viewing and magnification.  This helps with choosing treatment and area effectiveness.
Also it covers tips on evaluation and fakes. Basically I am well aware that anything can be faked online, and gave some of the ways it can be done and detected. I see my hair lengthening weekly, doubters can just post their success photos and how their method is is so much better.

A little addition here, as I posted on the other thread, I originally did this massage to prepare for a hair transplant. I have no time for 18 months and a few new hairs grow back kind of results. If I did not see something that really impressed me I would just be signing off with... the massage was nice... going to get my hair transplant now.  So there is no confusion, I am seeing regrowth that is worth sticking with (entire original hairline responding with hundreds of hairs lengthening) at least just to show it can be done. For me it is saving $5000 if I can get a full restoration.

Dt has been out for 3 years, yes 3 years, nobody has a full head of hairs from it yet. Drexx, obviously doesn't have a full head of hair and how long has he been doing it? what a load of sht dt is. I'm tired of a new thread on it, every month with users just recently joined.

Op's pics are great, go get your eyes checked son.

Eyes check? All he did was post a bunch of close up pics. I can bet my left nut, those hair has always been there.  Like I said, I can take a bunch of close up pics of my face at an angle, you will see vellus hairs. Does that mean I'm going to turn into a dam gorilla? lol

New comers are so dam gullible.

I was kind of having a laugh in my last post, asking cynical "experts "  to show us all how regrowth  it is really done with their top quality success photos and amazing methods gathered from their years of all knowing experience.
Then I realized that I should just be straight with my point to move the thread forward. I respect people's healthy criticism of presented photos and the limitations of anything posted online.
My point is that for those that think is it cleaver and cool to insinuate that I am "dumb " and that anybody that tries new techniques are stupid; we have now heard this general opinion.  No need to carry on with new posts elaborating and diversifying this point.  No need to continue assuming that the DT-CPR method is much like normal massage and has been tried before, and therefore you prophecies for the future, based on past results are to be highly regarded. Also no need to come up with the brilliant idea that nothing ever regrows hair to your satisfaction, so anybody having claimed success is obviously delusional with the intent to mislead and sell something.
I clarify these things firstly so that new readers can see the context of these opinions, and not mistake them for well educated guys acting like they have done in person measurements and scientifically invalidated claims .
Secondly so that others do not have to wade through more of these opinions and wonder if they are based on experience and science, or if they are just negative bias of people trying to sound important; but have nothing original or productive to offer.
Thirdly there may be others that want to post photos, and I hope they are not bombarded with recycled negativity.
Like I hinted at before jokingly, just start your own negative opinion, hopeless  prediction, super authority on everything, and opinionated skeptic thread. Then you can post pictures there and make fun of people and talk about your nut sack or whatever.
Here time will tell if there is something of value or not. If it is of value it may bring real solutions to a lot of people. If not it is free and let people decide for themselves how they want to approach their treatment without a bunch of repeated negativity.

Re: Regrowth Photos DT-CPR method

Post  Reborn Hair PPP on Tue Dec 15, 2015 4:53 pm

Hello Everyone,

After reading these significant posts, I felt like it was time for me to chime in. First and foremost, I want to commend cdto2012, drex1999, and all others who have kindly, thoroughly, and thoughtfully documented their hair loss progress. This is a huge milestone of hope, so thank you once again, for taking the necessary time in teaching us the "ropes" of DT therapy.

About a couple of months ago, I posted videos on YouTube showing the proper massage technique I currently use for DT. Up to this point, this technique has definitely paid me my "dividends" (i.e. my return on my investment). Seems like my hair welcomes it and is growing at an alarming rate, especially my temples. In case you need to see my videos, here are the links.

1. Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NL-KzAvkK_s
2. Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olOwbnNDHbk
3. Part 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUmvE9cSRrQ

In case any of you had not had the chance to read my original thread, where I microscopically document my synergistic regimen, please see my original posts here http://immortalhair.forumandco.com/t10871p1005-detumescence-therapy-dedicated-volunteers-wanted.

I want to encourage everyone, especially the SKEPTICS, to continue having hope in DT and don't bring this positive vibe down. You guys are just poisoning the community with your skeptical, biased views, which is unjust and uncalled for. Cdto, drex, Rob, Keanoseg, and me are just a few who have experienced success with this type of treatment. Let's please continue this healthy momentum ruling out all appalling views that tend to encourage hopelessness and trepidation.

I hope our unselfish concern for this community and my progress brings that extra glimmer of hope to all newcomers, experienced members, and cynics.

Good luck with many heavenly blessings!
