Can anyone literally feel themselves going bald?

Post  roro. on Mon Feb 01, 2016 3:22 am

I get this "tingly" sensation all the time just above my crown on the top of the scalp, my hairline and my temples - the spots where i'm losing my hair the most. Occasionally I will get the sensation along most or all of the top of the scalp. I never really get it on the "U" part or back of the scalp where, as far as I'm aware, i'm not losing hair.

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I literally feeling myself going bald :S ?

Yeah, I feel that all the time as well. It went away when I did DT therapy but I was still losing hair. Nizoral helps a lot with that feeling. Always great to be reminded you're losing hair!

yes, you are experiencing the inflammation. for me its always at the transition zone, not quite in the U and not quite on the top of the scalp, but around the hairline and back around the crown, and near the top of the sides.

Everyone seems to be getting that sensation when going bald and it is very common, i wonder if people who don't lose their hair get that same sensation and if not, then we know that the itch or inflammation can play a role in mpb. Treatments like Nizoral or DT are band aids for the inflammation, if we can find out exactly what causes it we can then target it specifically and be a step closer to solving mpb.
