Black/Green Tea Hair Spray; Does the Caffeine Get Absorbed?

Post  johndoe1225 on Tue Mar 01, 2016 4:00 am

Hey all!

I want to try a black or green tea hair spray, maybe a few tea bags in about 25 ounces of water or so, but I was worried about the caffeine.

I already drink a lot of green tea daily, usually at least 4 tea bags (I use two per cup), and was wondering what would happen with the caffeine in the black/green tea hair spray. Does it get absorbed through my scalp/skin and act as it would if i would have drank the tea (although less would get absorbed I'm sure as lots would just roll off)?

Thanks for any help Very Happy

Seems like it would be a good thing if the caffeine was absorbed. There are shampoos and topicals that include caffeine in their hair loss products. I think there are a few studies out there...just google caffeine and hair loss.

Hey

Well I'm not worried about that, because like you said, caffeine can be good for hair, I'm worried about the caffeine's general effects on the body, because I'm probably going to be using a lot of the tea hair spray, and I already drink a lot of green tea. I'm just wondering if when the caffeine gets absorbed through the scalp, if the caffeine's effects on the rest of the body is similar to drinking it.

Just adding my 2 cents, I use a caffeine shampoo, alpecia. I haven't seen any benefits yet and I am on week 4.
