Teeth Enamel Regeneration

Post  ITITCHES on Tue Jul 14, 2009 8:40 am

There's talk of teeth whitening, but what I'd like to see is talk about actual regeneration.

What's the word on novamin? How much and how exactly is xylitol beneficial? What does oiling the teeth actually *do* - dampen friction and protect or regenerate teeth?

I've always had good, if not exactly snow-white teeth, but recently, I *think* I see some deterioration - in particular, a suspicious little hole in one of my front. Now, my question is, you think it could have been caused by all the dark chocolate and herbal tea I drink, in other words, is it a sign of overall deterioration, or is it localized?

My teeth had become very sensitive but when I started taking soymilk from a local supermarket my sensitivity was gone...completely. From what I get Vitamin k2 is negligible in Soymilk but even that small amount stopped my teeth from being so sensitive (There are some sources which say K2 helps build enamel). I didn't realize this at the time and stopped drinking soymilk. Sure enough the sensitivity returned. Am gonna try eating an egg every other day and see if this helps my teeth. I might try experimenting with soymilk too.

i think getting some grass-fed, organic butter in your diet - rather than soymilk - is a safer way to get some K2 (mk7). Or you can just buy the supplements.

K2 supplements are not available in our country and organic food is still not a rage here. So I have to improvise and find out foods which are found easily over here. I know soy especially non-fermented one is not a good choice for a K2 source but I have no other option. Crying or Very sad
I hope a cup of soymilk every other day won't cause a major issue with my hormones.
If I buy supplements from abroad I end up paying many times the price of the original product as shipping. I would surely try finding some organic butter around here.

The matter is, as it turns out, very interesting:

http://quatrepattes.wordpress.com/2007/10/01/tooth-regeneration/

I'll tell you one thing - I always had great teeth back as a wee kid. Best of the lot - and guess what? I barely ever brushed at all. Now, my teeth of today are very good, but certainly not the best - especially now with this big chip in the front and the fact that they're kind of turning translucent.

Whilst I will cut down on tomato significantly, as well as completely drop my herbal tea 'regimen', I think there's one teeth-killer I share with many of us here which I don't exactly know how to tackle - I don't drink any dairy.

Teeth damage shares much with and is as relevant to male pattern baldness as anything non-scalp related ever will be: both are supposedly irreversible, and with new discoveries each day - as we well know - hair-wise at least - it's not exactly at all true... And meanwhile, where do we stand? We still brush with SLS-infested FDA muck. Remember how long ago you dropped your SLS shampoo?

regarding that calcium/flouride treatment you linked to... I'd like to try it because I've had a lot of problems with cavities and sensitivity over the past year or two. I've been trying to follow the no flouride protocal without results. I actually broke a chip off of one of my molars today, found a new cavity and developed an even worse sensitivity to chewing.

My issue is absorbing that extra potent flouride and calcium. I feel as if it would cause major problems for hair loss as well as general health, poxxibly in 1 treatment.

CS, can you wegih in on this?

Yanks

Pronamel is just regular toothpaste, there is nothing special about it. It's big secret - it contains fluoride, wow!

I've been using Arm & Hammer Age Defying toothpase, which contains liquid calcium, or "amorphous calcium phosphate." This was first used in the toothpaste "Enamelon" in 1999 but it failed commercially, so now only Arm & Hammer seems to have it. Enamelon orignally had 2 separated tubes to keep the calcium and phosphate from mixing until it was in your mouth, however Arm & Hammer does not do this. So either they have upgraded their technology somehow so it's stabilized, or it's worthless. I also rotate with some natural toothpastes.
