In case this was not interpreted correctly (how calcium is metabolized), not the amount is consumed matters with heart disease. So yes, exactly vitamin K2 will help, magnesium will help.

With respect to cholesterol, it increases with stress, with iron, and some problems with minerals transporters such as ceruloplasmin and levels of hephaestin, transferrin, ferroportin, ferritin, hepcidin not working. Citing saturated fats is just pro-vegan propaganda and commercial interests.

Avoiding the grains for most of us and the processed fats is in a nutshell, a pro-hair approach, but diet alone isn't enough (it just puts the brakes on inflammation).

Regarding determining the correct diet type, there's a general way (somewhat accurate) and then the blood chemistry test to check if everything falls within a stability range. Some people do great with a Peat style, yet I've seen many also fail, and the same apples with vegans/vegetarian, Paleo, etc.

Epidemiological study fails to prove diets being perfect since it cannot be extrapolated to other races. Diet is ancestral, yet today there is more of a mix now. It seems safer now to just avoid the chemical deluge of processed oils and fake foods.

You're right about digestion. Most people have lactose intolerance.

The liver has to process fructose, and the high levels cause a myriad of conditions of which high cholesterol is one. It's not not saturated fat as the establishment still wants us to believe, as a few people on here have mentioned already.

I have been searching for a healthy diet for a number of years having struggled with digestive problems for most of my life. I got diagnosed with Coeliac a few years ago, and after a bit of research realised that that was just the tip of the iceberg. There are a multitude of foods that humans can have problems digesting. You have only to look at our ancestors diets - i'm thinking millions of years ago - not the last few thousand years to realise that we evolved to eat a meat based diet, with a few vegetables, berries etc. thrown in.

The much talked about Paleo diet has a lot of good reasoning behind it. There was also a lot of work done by Weston Price who found that grains contained far too many anti-nutrients for humans to digest properly, simply because we havn't got the in built enzymes.

this is accurate.... but testosterone, progesterone, pregnenlone, etc. all the protective hormones are made from cholesterol... cholesterol is not bad for you... if you take thyroid, your cholesterol will drop, and more protective hormones will be made... i would like high cholesterol. Very Happy

Sanderson, yep, cholesterol is good - no matter what anyone says, especially HDL. The problems occur when the digestion gets out of whack by eating too much of the wrong foods and the HDL type increases to unsupportable levels.
