off topic: dermaroller on fresh surgical scar

Post  mambo on Wed Mar 01, 2017 8:44 am

Hi,

How long do you guys think I should wait before starting to use dermaroller on my scar from recent surgery? I want it to fade quickly to almost no scar. And I am thinking to use dermaroller and maybe apply after each session bio-oil. Please let me know what you think the best action plan would be.

Also, how many mm. long the needles should be in my case?

Thank you.

I would stay away from bio-oil  it contains Paraffinum Liquidum .  This is a petroleum derived mineral oil and is related to candle paraffin.  I see what it does to massage therapists hands, resulting in dried and cracked skin.

"In addition, mineral oil attracts needed moisture from cells deep inside your skin. This means that cell renewal is slowed, collagen breaks down, and the connective tissue is destroyed. As for timing to start demarolling on the scar, I will only speak generally. If the scar is healed and stable it should be ready. The lasting deformation takes many months to be reduced with dermarolling, so do not be in a rush to start treatment too early. Use vitamin oils like vitamin E and A, and any other natural ingredients.

Thank you for your reply cdto.

Do you or does anybody have any suggestion for which needles length to go for?

Here are the recommended lengths for scars with the treatment intervals.   For hair, I would never penetrate deep enough for bleeding,  but scars may take a deeper treatment.  (I really do not know how the previous post duplicated the pasted text, oh well. )

Also if you are dealing with an area that is often stretched you can have problems with keloid scarring, this video shows the best way they were able to cure these with a basic operation.
