Stopped taking Resveratrol!

Post  helpmyhair1 on Fri Apr 07, 2017 12:57 pm

After years of taking resveratrol, I've stopped after reading the work of Ray Peat.

Basically the issue with resveratrol is that it is estrogenic. And estrogen drives prolactin and cortisol, which are both associated with pattern baldness and interfere with the hair cycle.

To say that resveratrol is "estrogenic" is quite an exaggeration. Taking too much is one thing...doing everything that Ray Peat suggests isn't a practical thing for everyone. Always listen to your body for feedback.

Also there is "good" estrogen. More of the alpha estrogen receptor activity is what we want for anti-aging and good hair. Resveratrol is an angonist for ER-alpha.

PGd2 is the main focus and histamine

People have taken DHT blockers, estrogen blockers,
prolactin blockers, serotonin blockers and never had much success apart from stopping shedding.
