Massive Shedding After Head Trauma (Light Concussion + Small Stitches)

Post  Franklin' on Mon Nov 06, 2017 5:38 pm

So I got jumped about a week ago and had to get stitched up (4 small stitches in the back of my head, 2 on top). Yesterday was the first day I was allowed to wash my hair — and now I'm having MASSIVE shedding. Like, around 100 hairs in the sink right after I dried and brushed, and now 10 to 20 hairs come off every time I brush my hair/run my hand through my hair. I've had a pretty mild case of male pattern baldness since about I was 19 (28 and still around NW2 now) — is this the trauma exacerbating my condition? Or is this just my hair's reaction to the stress of the trauma and getting stitches and my hair hasn't been washed for a week straight (which I've never done before)?

Freaking out to be honest.

Hi  I hope your condition is temporary.  We have other guys trying treat hairloss after scars seemed to be reducing blood flow to sections.  I would guess your is from shock hormones.

I had a hair graft and the scar does reduce the density in that area.  To reduce scarring needling is used for this after healed.  You can search for my DT-CPR pressing method to restore  blood flow.

Also see a chiropractor to see if your neck is aligned. If you or a friend can adjust it is the budget method. The founder of this forum considers alignment valuable for hair health
