TOO Many Green Smoothies?

Post  johndoe1225 on Tue Aug 21, 2018 9:46 am

Hey everyone

Is it possible, assuming I am a normal person with no health conditions, to have too many green vegetables due to making smoothies?  Almost every day I take one full bunch of spinach (they come in bunches at the grocery store), and a bunch of kale (maybe three or so medium-long stalks), boil or steam it for about 5 minutes to remove as much goitrogens and oxalates as I can, then blend it up with water and drink it as a side to my dinner, almost in one sitting.  Then I'll have 3-4 large stalks of raw celery some other time during most days, then (at night usually), a large cucumber with skin and some various berries blended together.  In the afternoon I'll have two large-ish tomatoes blended up.

I just had a basic blood test done and my doctor told me everything's great, so...

I assumed this is just kind of like having a MASSIVE salad with your meal.  I'd like to take a picture to show what I'm talking about...Maybe later.

My biggest concern is really just goitrogens I guess, like I said I cook them to try to avoid that.  If possible I'd even like to try to have a little more greens, but I think at this point it's getting to be too much.

Also, does anyone have any thought on adding maybe 1/4 or 1/2 a raw onion to my main smoothie (the spinach and kale one)?  Taste is irrelevant.

Note that this isn't juicing, I'm using a blender, so I don't throw anything out (I trim the very ends off of the vegetables though).

Thanks Very Happy
