Life Extension Healthy Hair Spray

Post  FW2000 on Sat Nov 21, 2009 2:01 pm

Is anyone on this board familiar with Life Extension Healthy Hair Spray. I just came accross it yesterday and am thinking of giving it a try. Also, Below is some information on the product:

Healthy Hair Spray
5 fl. oz. (150 ml)
Item Catalog Number: 01405
Healthy Hair is a topical spray formula developed in Europe, to be used on the hair and scalp daily to encourage healthy hair growth cycles in men and women.1 For existing hair, this formula may lengthen the amount of time that the hair stays in the hair follicle. Included in Healthy Hair are natural plant extracts which help stimulate circulation to the scalp. Enhanced blood flow to the scalp may improve the delivery of oxygen and nutrients.

Healthy Hair is made with key plant compounds to help encourage robust hair health:

■Esculin, isolated from Aesculus hippocastanum (Horse chestnut), is a coumarin derivative.
■Ximenynic acid (XA), found in a variety of plants including Ximenia africana and Santalum album, is a diunsaturated fatty acid.
■Lauric acid, an n-dodecanoic fatty acid present in Serenoa repens (saw palmetto).
Working together, these bioactive compounds and fatty acids help nourish and invigorate the hair and scalp. This European patented formula produced significant increases in the number of hairs in the anagen (active growth) phase compared to placebo and baseline. Participants using the placebo saw more hair density loss during the study compared to those using this formula.

Sounds interesting. I need a more natural hair spray but all of the natural hairspray I have used is horrible. Usually too sticky and dries with a wet and flat look. If it works let me know Very Happy Thanks.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I just got a catalogue in the mail from Life extension the other day and they were advertising the Healthy Hair Spray and the spray had a different list of ingredients. I have yet to try this product yet, but want to know if I should be concerned with any of the ingredients in it if I do choose to try it. Below is the new list of ingredients:

SD-alcohol 40B, deionized water, esculin, ximenynic acid, lauric acid, hydrolyzed keratin protein, dl-panthenol.

Rob,

I am in the same boat as you. I am tired of using stuff that agravates my scalp. I used to use rogaine foam and it caused major inflammation on my scalp. My main concern is the list of ingredients with this hair spray product. I am trying to go 100% natural and have had trouble finding info. on some of the ingredients like ximenynic acid. Does anyone know if all of the ingredients in the Life Extension hair spray are natural and safe?
