Athletes foot Cream and Scalp Reaction - Spots

Post  gbp2000 on Wed Nov 25, 2009 5:15 pm

Hi All,

I am still using my standard combo of IH6 - Aloe/Garlic/Castor topical and making slow but visible progress.

I'm now exploring ways to geometrically advance the speed of my progress.

Who knows if I will have any luck.

Anyway, I have been applying athletes foot cream to my scalp for a week now and have noticed that I am developing rather nasty spots in my balding temple area. Thick coverage areas don't seem to have the spots but I don't know if that is simply to do with less even distribution in those areas...

Any ideas on what might be happening?

Which athletes foot cream are you using as I might give that a try for regrowth?

Thanks

Hiya,

Its a UK Boots store own brand one. Why would you think it would cause regrowth? I havn't seen any results yet - just these darn painful spots (shamefully, I just had to squeeze one...).

I'll dig out the ingredients for you, so you can match it up at least.

Thanks

Regarding why I want to try it is I've noticed that strong antibacterial, antifungal, etc. topicals give the best results regarding regrowth. I've noticed pimple like protrusions and also what I'd describe as "very little" but very many calcium deposits coming out of my pores is preceded by regrowth which makes your skin feel hard and scaley for a brief period. Maybe it's malassezia yeasts ... I dunno. CS has posted a great study about this.

The only way I could tell that regrowth occured is with pictures.

The other kind of topical that appears to work the best for regrowth are the ones that change the calcium/sodium .... as in topical magnesium or potassium. In addition I believe celery seed extract or eating a lot of celery may hold promise for those still losing hair regarding this info.

hope this helps

Heya,

That is interesting - I guess it might explain some of my results with Garlic.

The cream is a combo of Benzalkonium Chloride and ToInaftate.

Would that effect calcium deposits?

gbp2000,

I don't know. But I would recommend to take pictures just in case you get some regrowth.

Good luck to you.

I've got to the stage where I have enough Aloe Vera growing to make my first few applications completely organic. Hopefully that will help my regrowth.

In terms of the cream, I will use it for 3 months on just one side of my head (i'm going to say left as that is where the spots are).

They are very painful today Sad
