Tribulus terrestris experience?

Post  Paradox on Sat Nov 28, 2009 6:37 am

Does anyone have any experience taking tribulus to raise testosterone or increase libido? I am trying to find one single supplement to take for this. Any recommendations?

JHarsh80 - Tribulus will work if your testosterone levels are below normal. However, it will not raise them above normal. The dose needed is 1,500 to 2,000 twice per day for full effect.

Cs, I was looking at a couple other options as well. Obviously I am trying to bring my cholesterol up, but I'm nor sure if I should address the low free test levels directly i.e. Tribulus, or through lowering my estradiol via anti-aromatase maybe? I am going to add Resveratrol to my regimen next order; should I wait and see how that goes?

This was interesting to me in the review for the Country Life Resveratrol Plus:
From Arizona
A study shows pine bark extract helps raise tesosterone levels. Another recent study shows that the higher a man's "natural" (not from steriods) testosterone levels the longer they live. Plus, testosterone increases both men & women's libido as well & fights osteoporosis. We all know that any anti-aging regimen is weak with trans-Resveratrol. We have a study showing that GSE(grape seed extract) helps preserve resveratrol. This combo formula is truly remarkable. 2 to 4 Vcaps per day total. But, taken at least 2 times a day. If you have active cancer at least 5 per day & always with NOW Quercetin 500mg Vcaps. Additionally, take one 500mg capsule of vitamin C with each RES Vcap. You cannot absorb more than 500mg every 2 hours. Make sure your vitamin C capsules have at least 350mg or more (70%) of vitamin P. Otherwise, you'll just urinate the vitamin C out.

Do I need to take Quercitin?

Thanks

JHarsh80 - Your particular profile is unique, and I'm not sure if you had the opportunity to get screened for specific conditions in some previous posts.

In particular I would suggest you check your mercury levels. Mercury can depress your cholesterol, which depresses your steroid hormones.

CS,

I have not been testes for mercury- I will look into that. I do take ALA and ALC, on and off for over a year and evryday for some months now. Is the ALA enough to chelate enough mercury on its own? How long would you expect it to take? I did take humifluvate (spelling?)- one bottle of it over a year ago. I'll do a search for other symptoms of mercury poisoning to see if I have them.

JHarsh80 - If you find that you have high mercury levels, ALA would not be enough to remove it. Perhaps high dose Lugol's solution, with Humifulvate and Silica Hydride (negatively charged hydrogen ions). I suggest these three because they do not cause the sort of problems that other mercury detox protocols inflict.

Paradox: Although it's never listed among the "big boys" for raising testosterone and libido; celery seed extract consistently provides me with the "morning wood" effect. Since this is a sign of healthy testosterone production, I can only assume that celery seed has a positive effect in the testosterone raising process. It also seems to help the circulatory system. . .

CS has also posted a number of great threads here on celery seed extract.
