tingling hands and feet
I have been getting tingling hands and feet lately. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Re: tingling hands and feet
Could be insulin resistance, especially if you are having hair loss also. I exhibit most of these diabetic symptoms as well (I eat a lot of food but never gain weight, go to the restroom 2-3 times a night, very receded gums. I have the tingling sensation in my limbs a lot but usually only when I sit down or sleep in an awkward position):
Type 1 Diabetes
•Frequent urination
•Unusual thirst
•Extreme hunger
•Unusual weight loss
•Extreme fatigue and Irritability
Type 2 Diabetes*
•Any of the type 1 symptoms
•Frequent infections
•Blurred vision
•Cuts/bruises that are slow to heal
•Tingling/numbness in the hands/feet
•Recurring skin, gum, or bladder infections

Besides what Espio mentioned about insulin resistance it could also be uric acid. I personally believe, or at least in my case, that when your crown starts thinning, not the front but the crown, and you can feel it, that feeling is caused by an excess of uric acid. To me, that makes the most logical sense. At least based on my experience of diet and celery seed extract.
Here is a study showing uric acid levels elevated
CORONARY HEART DISEASE RISK FACTORS IN MALE-TYPE

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Hyperandrogenaemia and androgenetic alopecia has some association with increased risk of coronary heart
disease. Conflicting data has since been reported with regards to levels of biochemical markers of coronary heart disease
risk factors in androgenetic alopecia.
Methods: A case control study was planned to evaluate biochemical markers of coronary heart disease in
hyperandrogenaemia of males and androgenetic alopecia. Patients of androgenetic alopecia (n=22) were men with frontooccipital
baldness, aged 20-30 years.
Results: Healthy controls (n=20) were age-matched males without alopecia. The individuals with clinical evidence of any
systemic or localised scalp disease were excluded. Levels of fibrinogen, glucose, Insulin, uric acid, total cholesterol, LDLcholesterol
and HDL-cholesterol were measured. The levels of total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, insulin, glucose, and uric
acid in patients of androgenetic alopecia when compared with normal controls were raised significantly. Fibrinogen levels
were raised while HDL-Cholesterol was lower in patients than controls but the difference was not significant statistically.
Conclusion: The results support the hypothesis that androgenetic alopecia in males is associated with increased risk of
coronary heart disease.

Sounds like neuropathy. Would suggest high dose Benfotiamine, Lipoic acid and Acetyl l-Carnitine.

thanks,
the tingling usely gets started when it is exposed to cold temps. Like when I am surfing or when I take off my socks and the touch the cold ground. Does this narrow it down anymore?

Consider capillary health: Wine, Bilberry. Both will improve circulation drastically.

1.....,
I wanted to add that when you are cold, your body concentrates blood flow around the vital organs: heart, liver, lungs, etc. Extremities are the least vital. If you drink booze in the cold, you will undo this. But that has risks. Yes, the flask in the winter undermines a natural bodily safety precaution. If you bolster capillary integrity, improve circulation, you will be able to better handle cold temps. Do a google search on capillary health; it should also benefit hair.

I'm back and maybe 1 is gone, but I'll answer anyway. Gibson is getting to the heart of the matter. I think it's autonomic dysfunction. If the hands and feet get very red around the tingling episodes (maybe after), that is strong evidence. (Raynaud's is another, less likely possibility.) Diet and lifestyle changes can help lessen symptoms and there is medication for severe cases, but mostly it will appear when it wants to. If that's three of us now with it and hair loss, I'm more suspicious of the connection.

I get it too. I think poor circulation has a lot to do with my hair loss, especially since things like scalp massage/exercise and topical cayenne help out a lot. My only problem is trying to figure out WHY I have this issue. It's been suggested that I may have Lyme. I need to look into that. I've thought about Insulin Resistance too. I haven't undergone any testing for these things though.
