Slightly OT: Jobs that you can wear hats?

Post  Paradox on Sun Dec 27, 2009 6:12 am

As my hairline creeps farther and farther back, I am wondering how I am going to style it in order to feel comfortable in public. I am growing less and less comfortable with the appearance of my hair. I have considered the 'Ashton Kutcher' (comb forward). I don't know if I can pull that off. I have a couple scars on my head, and it's lopsided a bit so the shaved look is out.

That leaves me with hats! Yes...that is how pathetic I feel right now...I am trying to brainstorm what jobs/career I can get that would allow me to wear a baseball hat everyday. Anybody?? Am I the first one to think of/ come to this? Damn!

You could get into the trades that let you wear a hard hat.

Or you can be a teacher, grow out a beard to make up for the lack of hair on top, and pull off the professor look.

I am just planning on going with a balding hairstyle like below:

jharsh, if you let your hair loss control your life then you are in store for way more suffering as compared to if you just accepted it.

The problem lays not in the hair loss but how you are making the situation into something that it is not.

At some point you will have to take off your hat, and when you do it will be very awkward if no one has seen you without a hat on.

All joking aside, just do a buzz cut or shaved head. Thanks to mixed martial arts, that kind of look is in style.

Espio,

Funny that you mention MMA, because I was just thinking the same thing about 10 minutes ago, ha.

Also, Hollywood more and more is utilizing the shaved look.

Know what's funny? My little bro's hair loss is more aggravated than mine (though not by much), and he shaves his head in a marine-like fashion and has temple recession and what-not, and my buddy who busts my nuts (losing his hair as well) goes 'why are you balding and not your brother?' I'm like, you idiot, he is balding that's why he shaved his head!

Point is, shaving your is in style, so people may look at you as just being stylish rather than balding.

JH, if ya gotta, shave it. It'll also make topical application a heluva lot easier. Main thing keeping me from shaving is a couple sebaceous cysts, but I'm due to get the other two removed in a month and I think I'll shave it when summer comes along. Looks good now with hair-tek after a shower and styled with a boar bristle brush, but it'd sure be a lot less of a hassle!!

Sup Nid!

Sounds like the hair is maintaining? Has has been your hair been doing this past year?

In my case, my hair has went downhill (reduced fin and dut use) but I don't care as much as I used to.

I am focusing on my diet and more supplements now instead of the dut. Much easier to be calm without the dutasteride in my system.

Nid,

True, I wish I could sport the buzz cut, but I have a round scar on the crown area about half the size of a dime from being too drunk one night and falling straight back on the sidewalk. Plus my head isn't symmetrical (round) and I just look better with hair. In fact, I have always spiked it up in the front because of this reason. Ah well I'll figure somethin out. Are you still wounding? That Tb4-7 cream looks interesting. I was thinking about picking up a dermaroller...who sells those things? What ever happened with the topical lithium and wounding? Sorry bout the tangents, but I figure since I have you here...
