So are we SURE green tea doesn't increase DHT? >.< (looking for a good dht-reducing topical)

Post  hoppipolla on Thu Apr 29, 2010 10:45 pm

Heya, I've been looking at this stuff as one of my like "quick fix" topicals (my goal is to get my hair loss nicely under control, and concentrate on the underlying issues as well, in order to come at this from every angle):

http://www.endhairlossnaturally.com/hair.loss.ingredients.DHT.htm

Thing is I hear such mixed things about green tea. Like look at this: http://jn.nutrition.org/cgi/content/full/133/2/516#SEC2

So.. like what IS the deal?

I'm hoping combining Spectral RS with Hair Regain and Regenepure DS will give me an awesome collection of topicals, and then if I still struggle at all I can use some Spectral DNC and/or Spiro.. I know they're a bit naughty for this forum but I really want to just give it a clout, and then think about my health and stuff as a more general "behind-the-scenes" solution Smile

Anyway, cheers guys Smile

Hoppi!

Hoppi - This question is maybe without any surprise to you, been asked many times before. The short answer is green tea is safe for hair. When taking green tea, it is preferable to opt for the EGCG content to be high.

If you'd like a good DHT-reducing topical, then I'd recommend Organic Seabuckthorn Oil. You may want to purchase a shower cap from Wal-Mart or something to prevent the oil from getting on your pillow overnight. Just overnight is fine, also great at killing demodex and other bacteria/parasites on your scalp!! I get mine from Mountain Rose Herbs:

If you decide to drink green tea I have recently started to add a lemon to each cup...the citrus juices increase the effectiveness of the antioxidants found in the green tea

Thanks for the response on this guys, sorry I didn't reply before. I actually do have some Green Tea here so I may go and drink it in a sec! It has Holy Basil as well!

I'm sure you're all right, I guess that study and thread just threw quite a few people off!

I did actually order that topical, as it seemed to me to be quite mild, but a well chosen group of herbs and quite comprehensive in it's effects.

Thanks again, and I apologize for bringing up something that has been covered a fair few times before (and for the other times I've done this too ._. lol)
