Women receding hairline, sudden onset of acne and dry skin and rosacea. Help IH!

IH, my friend, female age 30 Asian, is experiencing acne for the first time in her life and a slight receding (ie maturing?) hairline. What could be the reason?
One change in her body that preceded the acne was an increase in her body temperature (she used to have cold hands and feet, now they are warm) which she attributes to better circulation and digestion (a'la increased fiber intake and bowel movements). What supplements could she benefit from? I saw the bit on progesterone and am thinking that is something she should try.

Sorry I know I'm not CS lol, but the first thing that comes to my mind is thyroid (overactive). Might be worth a blood test? Is her morning basal body temperature above the range?

Other than that I don't know, may also be an excessive production of oil I would imagine, like... that could be dietary and all sorts. I personally would look at thyroid first though

She may benefit from high dose iodine. Would suggest slowly introducing it (taken along with selenium) and observe any changes.

Progesterone is also working experimenting with, it can act as an anti-androgen.

1. If it is hyperthyroid, would excess iodine cure or exacerbate the condition?
2. How would one, "ease into" and iodine regimen?

slowbutspeeding - Iodine will not exacerabate hyperthyroidism, although many physicians will disagree (only because their teaching is from out of date textbooks and erroneous studies on rats).

Also, there maybe a temporary change in TSH, but it is not relevant, and should be checked at least 6-months post iodine usage.

To ease in, try out Iosol, and then if needed one can go to stronger, more potent Lugol's solution.

Isn't it best to do the Barnes test and have a blood test first just to make sure the thyroid is the cause?

Hoppipolla - Yes, not a bad idea at all, however females are especially prone to iodine shortages, so it's a pretty safe bet in this case.

Just an update:
She is taking ubiquinol and says that it is helping by reducing the ichiness of the acne.
But she is also taking 5-10 drop of iosol a day, so not sure which is helping to mitigate the irritation.
