Molecularly distilled vs. fermented fish oil! and contamination
From a different post:
Molecularly distilled fish oil does not contain heavy metals, have heavy metals been removed from this fermented cod liver oil?

This product is the only perfect cod liver oil product left on the market. It's the very best available.

Re: Molecularly distilled vs. fermented fish oil! and contamination
ezmbh - I would suppose not, but not concerned about it. Here's why: Cod is a deep sea fish that can acquire metals, the selenium that is very abundant reacts with the living fish and neutralizes the mercury damage.
So when it is consumed, whatever residual mercury is found in the liver oil, then that mercury is been bound to selenium and is quickly excreted out of the body not longer after ingestion.
Mercury is found naturally in the ocean and always has been before modern contamination.
Moleculary distilled is a marketing gimmick.

will this cod liver oil be a good alternative to krill oil and provide GLA that's in the krill oil?

Re: Molecularly distilled vs. fermented fish oil! and contamination
ezmbh - Fermented CLO would be a good alternative to Krill oil. Neither contain GLA, but both contain EPA & DHA.
The reason molecular distilled isn't so good is because the process involves hexane washing and high temperatures, which can damage some of the fatty acids.
