biosil and regrowth??

Post  orwell on Mon Nov 08, 2010 9:20 pm

For around 3 weeks now i have been double dosing boisil (20 drops a day) and my face has never been smoother and my hair feels very lush and less oilly. Very Happy

Wondering if there is any chance of regrowth here? Surprised
Is anyone using biosil with a degree of sucess?
And is the cheaper jarrows biosil the same quality as the natural factors biosil which i am currently taking??

The silicon contained in BioSil silica supplements increases the level of hydroxyproline in the body. This is an amino acid required to produce elastin and collagen in the skin, which increase firmness and elasticity.

This product comes in three sizes.

It does work pretty well to smooth out skin. It seems to be a vast improvement to their older product which I had used many times before without any perceivable result.

Maybe it was the manufacture change that made the difference? Whatever this difference is I am noticing it, and time will tell if it improves hair, so I will hope for the best. I've been using this stuff for just over a month and a half.

Hi CS/others

I see there are two forms of biosil, liquid and capsules

http://www.iherb.com/Natural-Factors-BioSil-ch-OSA-Advanced-Collagen-Generator-120-Veggie-Caps/23160?at=0

so which one you think is superior?

I'm not sure, although I had tried both liquid and capsule of the Jarrow version on many occasions years ago.

I find the capsules a lot more convenient to take.

Used this for years. In every way better than BioSil. libido, hair, skin, pain, weight, price, etc.. http://www.iherb.com/Neocell-Super-Collagen-Type-1-3-Powder-7-oz-198-g/6074?at=1

Also, have tablets.

... should mention the last time I bought Biosil was about 12 months ago. Not sure if that's after manufacturer change.

Should mention too that neither product and have tried other similiar products will benefit hair loss IME/IMO for most men.

I'm not expecting anything amazing but I thought I'd give biosil (liquid) a shot. I'd be happy with some smoother skin, and of course hopeful for some strengthening of the hair. My question though...since it's liquid, and so is my Iosol, could I take them together in the same pomegranate juice drink? Would the biosil interfere with my iodine? I usually take a Toxguard at night as well. Any advice? Very Happy

Re: biosil and regrowth??

Biosil is now "choline-stabilized" orthosilic acid. I went to an acupuncturist for a while who touted/sold a much more expensive brand of choline-stabilized orthosilic acid, and she said the stabilization is what made it better than OTC products. Better bioavailability, etc.

I seem to remember there was a while that I couldn't find Biosil, but suddenly "Jarrowsil" appeared for sale, which I'd never seen. I figured Jarrow had bought the formula for Biosil or something.

Then suddenly I could get Biosil again, only it was a bit more expensive and the label was a little different. When I looked at the new label I noticed it said the same thing as my acupuncturist's brand, which is "choline stabilized". Didn't used to say that.

I don't think it makes a difference if it's liquid or capsules. The liquid tastes absolutely vile so it either needs to go in a lot of juice (or only enough juice to do a "shot"), or put into an empty gelatin capsule. I use the liquid b/c liquids tend to be a better value.
