Thanks for the information, unfortunately many many supplements will fail to reach it's label.
I hope and believe that CS own brand contains a better source of Neptune Krill Oil.

tonyj - Im not offering any product. Im tying to help people here stay away from a bad product. If you dont want the heads up then dont take it. Im sure some people will be appreciative.
Misirlou - Good news is that the vast majority of products live up to their labels.

Let me put it this way, the "vast majority" of supplements sold in U.S stores today are pretty much useless. The key is to find the ones that actually do work, luckily, we have our own forum ferret for this task (CS)Good news is that the vast majority of products live up to their labels.

NPR did a small study, I wouldn't even call it a study, just one of the news reporters walking into various health food and pharmacies to pick up Vitamins and minerals in New York City. Of all the supplements they bought, 40% were just corn, rice starch or other filled pills that had absolutely non of the nutrients labeled on the supplement container. The FDA considers nutritional supplements in the same category as food, there is no oversight on the production of these supplements, and any one of the brand label supplements may not contain the content that is claimed on the label or may even vary in content from one bottle of supplements to the next. There's some standard that is self imposed on the nutritional supplement industry, the GMP (The Good Manufactures Process or Practice), but even then does not require strict testing of the ingredients.

Re: NOW Nuptune Krill Oil Fails CL Testing
Wouldnt that be illegal under false advertising?
From the tests ive seen on CL, there are alot of good brands that can be trusted. Im not saying NOW is not a good brand. Not one of the best IMO, but who knows, it could have been Neptunes fault. Personally i will still buy NOW products, just not their krill oil.

Maybe someone who has a bottle should bite into and see if they taste rancid compared to another brand. In the meantime I've dropped krill oil for pumpkin seed oil + astaxanthin, I feel it is a better combo for me.

Re: NOW Neptune Krill Oil Fails CL Testing
my room was very hot lately, and when i realized i worried about a bottle of neptune krill oil (my other 11 bottles are in the fridge) and one of orthonutrition (Nid & CS's brand) krill oil that i kept in my room.
NOW's neptune kill oil gelcaps had become soft and reddish. orthonutrition were still hard and black. i bited into one orthonutrition gelcap and it was i would say slightly bitter and very red (not black as it would look from outside the gelcap. i still have to try and bite into one now-reddish NOW's gelcap and see what that one is like...
