Dr. Proctor Products
I was just wondering what everyone on this board thought about his products. I was looking at purchasing his Proxiphen-N or Advanced Thinning Hair Treatment. I am trying to keep my hair loss treatment regime as natural, safe and effective as possible. The ingredients in these products are:
Advanced Thinning Hair Treatment - Allantoin, ascorbate, ascorbylpalmitate, arginine, BHT, 3-carboxypyridine-N-Oxide, CU/ZN-binding peptides (from CU/ZN sulfates), EDTA, propyleneglycol, superoxide dismutases, water.
Proxiphen-N (Ithink this is a stronger version) Allantoin, ascorbate, ascorbylpalmitate, arginine, BHT, 3 carboxypyridine-N-Oxide, CU/ZN-binding peptides (from CU/ZN sulfates), EDTA, propyleneglycol, superoxide dismutases, water

I've heard good things about his products, only people moan about the price. There is a case of seen of someone getting a little regrowth and maintaining on Prox-N alone. I'm looking to give proxiphen a go sometime soon

The only thing about this product that I am hesitant about is the propylene glycol (heard lots of negative things about it). Some of the other ingredeints I have never herad of like BHT and Allantoin. I am going to research this product some more on the internet.

Re: Dr. Proctor Products
Just want to give an update on the Dr. Proctors Advanced Thinning Hair Treatment liquid and shampoo. I have been on it for about 5 months and have not noticed any real improvement in my hair (I have not lost anymore hair either). I do have to take a break from using it every several days do the scalp irratation it causes. I am thinking of trying somtehting different in a couple of weeks and not use this product anymore. Has anybody had any real success with natural hair loss topicals?

BHT is a food safe preservative. In some alternative circles it is actually used internally to help treat certain viral diseases like HIV & Herpes. Although at high levels over an extended period there is a chance of liver toxicity.
But topically you should be fine. The Zix guy uses BHT as his preservative as well.
