Transdermal Magnesium - Nigari
I have been taking Mg Orotate for say 3 months or so, w/o any benefit that I can perceive. This is not to say it is not helping, but I am not seeing any tangible benefit so far. I am like, this is the best and most expensive Mg, and I am not sure.
So, I ventured into the Transdermal route with Nigari. Ordered some from here Cheap Nigari , made a gallon quickly, and have been using it as a foot soak and arm spray for the last couple days. Foot soaks are 30 minutes, once a day and arm sprays are couple in a day.
After 1st day of use, waking up the next day - no more back ache that I would otherwise normally have in the AM right after getting from the bed. And the feeling is the same throughout the day - just no pain. Now I call this a result...
I know Mg takes time to rebuild and stock in the body, but there is something about the foot soak / transdermal path that seems to be producing immediate result - atleast in one dimension it did for me.
Nigari is dirt cheap - making the Mg solution yourself is very easy. You need almost a gallon to soak your feet in it. And that gallon will probably be dirty by weeks end. I ordered 10 lbs of Nigari from this web site and I think this will last me quite a bit.

Re: Transdermal Magnesium - Nigari
I've told you so much about nigari versus MAg oil => nobody is listening.
Ok. Nigari is better or identical as MAg oil. Period. Except the price.
What about the supplements business ? ahah
Oh, by the way, nigari is coming from the sea, like MAg oil. As natural as mag oil.

Re: Transdermal Magnesium - Nigari
This is great news, rather than a foot soak, how much of this stuff could be mixed with say to use topically?

Re: Transdermal Magnesium - Nigari
For internal use :
1 tablespoon of Nigari in 1l of pure water. You got it babe. You can put more or lesss of the nigari.
You can take up to 3 glasses of nigari ( wait 6 hours between) when you got flue, immune system disease, viral issues etc...dot it for few days onlyat this dose, in my opinion...
For regular use, 1/2 in the morning, and 1/2 in the evening ( or only 1 glass in the morning) ...more or less. This is a "base", if you're going to toilets , reduce the amount....otherwise you can increase...So to speak, if you're taking too much, you gonna know it rapidly ! if no kidneys issues, no worries...
I never had issues from this side. depends individuals as always
last, a pack of nigari is 100g .
dosage are from 10g/l to 35g/l...
One big full tbsp is fine, but as you can see, you can upgrade...depending what you feel..
For external : The same ! 1 tablespoon of Nigari in 1l of pure water. OR more...

Re: Transdermal Magnesium - Nigari
Europe seems to be using this longer, so he probably has more experience there.
I followed this on curezone and their is a separate forum for Magnesium supplementation. Basically, my understanding reading there is that Mg taken orally is poorly absorbed, however; trandermally it is much better. So does not matter which Mg you take orally, it will not be as effective as transdermally. Now that is my understanding and so far that is my experience as well.
Nigari (or Mg oil) is Magnesium Chloride. So one has to be careful to make sure taking the chloride that comes with Mg oil is okay - just something to be aware of. As an example, in Mg orotate, you are taking the oratic acid with Mg - where as in Mg oil, you are taking in the extra chlroide.
Mixing Nigari to make Mg oil is kind of trial and error for me - perhaps the mixing direction from Europe is correct, I do not know. At Curezone they say to mix the Nigari in pure water until the solution starts to become oily - you will know just keep adding until it begins to give you that feeling when rubbed b/w the palms. Another way to tell is that if left on the skill, the solution will leave white crust after say 10-15 minutes. That's also a sign that you are at an appropriate strength. You can always add more Nigari or water to up or dilute the Mg Oil.
As I said, my results from transdermal Mg were immediate - but I am doing foot soaks (30 min) once a day and 2 times liberal spray of Mg oil on both arms. Just be careful, this stuff will dry your skin pretty quick - so keep it well lubed afterwards (I use cocunut oitl afterwards) and clean off the chloride salt from your skin when done.

Re: Transdermal Magnesium - Nigari
lund - Good input bro !
I must admit that the dosage seems right for internal, and a very well known dosage.
I must rectify : regular dose : 1 glass /day to 2 per/day ( chronic affection)
For the external, i didn't know about this way of "making" mag oil until it feels "oily".
I always feel that the "power" couls have been better on the EXTERNAL.
So i'm gonna test it tonight right away !
By the way, MgCl in water gives : MgCl2-6H2O 20-25g/l of MgCl
You can buy Nigari ( natural form from sea) , OR MgCl ( packet of 20g but not natural) in pharmacy ( in europe though).

Re: Transdermal Magnesium - Nigari
CS, I am not sure ~ from my perspective I am keeping my 2 feet sokaed into this solution for good 30 minutes, I do not think you can do the same with a topical solution on scalp, there is just no easy way to keep your scalp submerged with that much Mg Oil for this long. You may have to keep spraying the oil every 30 seconds on the scalp for the next 30 minutes, perhaps not practical. The surface area of scalp is also less than the 2 feet of skin combined.
Now I am new to this, so may be you do not need to soak for 30 minutes - but I think the most of Mg I am getting is from the foot soaks, the arm sprays are gravy. Just imagine your feet submerged upto your ankle for good 30 minutes vs a little that you can srpay on your scalp or the arms.
30 minutes of foot soak is a number I have gotten from CZ and others are using it as a guideline there as well. I am sure I will have to adjust the strength of the solution / or the duration of soak once I begin to experience any sides (loose stools, palpitations, etc), we will see when and if I get there.
The link I provided in the OP is by far the cheapest source of Nigari I was able to find - shipping kills the deal, but if you order 10+ pounds the deal comes out pretty decent. Shipping was fast and I got the good delivered to me within 5 days.

Europe & Lund - Thanks a bunch, this is so way better of a value than commercial mag oil.

Europe... What I´m doing these days is take a crystal of Magnesium Chloride and wet it with just one drop of water... That way you get a wet crystal to rub it on your scalp... you could feel the crystal dissolving into some kind of oil, while you're rubbing it...
This way, I´m only using about 3 or 4 crystal each night... So I think my bottle of MC will last forever!
