Post  boogv510 on Fri Nov 02, 2012 8:26 pm

Ive been doing heavy metal detox for about 2 weeks now, im not getting any of the detox symptoms at all.

Here's my regimen
x1 ecklonia cava
x1 selenium
x1 decalcify
x1 vitamin a
x1 vitamin d3
x1 omega 3 fish oil

before bed i would take
x1 humifulvate
about 1500-2000 vitamin c pureway
iosol about 8-10 drops

ps. I also have jarrow probotioc but I was thinking about taking it after Im done with heavy metal detox or is it okay to take it now along with doing heavy metal detox?

Well to get into the dosage range for iodine to clean the thyroid you're going to have to up that dose for sure. Iosol takes like 12 drops before it equals 1 drop of the lugols. Best to up it slowly though. The regimen discussed on immortal uses the lugols %2 not iosol.
No alpha-lipoic acid?

IMO that method of cleansing is with the humifulvate is very gentle and though I'm sure it helps it never gave me much in terms of detoxing. Also if you're detoxing mercury etc, you need to deal with possible candida overgrowth and biofilms since they can interfere with chelating some metals as I understand it.

I found the Cutler protocol to be much more effective, but you don't want to do it if you have any metal fillings. it may also be harsh to start with in terms of your kidneys and liver's work load if you've never chelated before.

Personally I also make a smoothie with a ton of cilantro in it everyday as well.

There's other potential factors too. Like how to use the C properly you need enough D, and A and cofactors like chromiums and borons etc... it's a pretty intense topic when you get into it but you should be able to find a ton of info by sifting through this forum.

Have you gotten any labwork done as a baseline (such as urine or hair testing)? This would be a good idea so that you can test later on and see if you made progress.

My favorite heavy metal detox method is Modified citrus pectin. It has incredible studies indicating powerful metal removal with very few side effects, if any. Check out http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16835878 and http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18616067

This being said, I don't know of studies indicating the heavy metals are implicated in hair loss (although one doctor did note a correlation with mercury toxicity - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2866700/ ). It certainly couldn't hurt to test it however, and getting rid of metals is also a great idea for general health.

Doesn't one drop of Lugol's 5% equals like 3 drops of Iosol? U would get approximately 22 mg of iodine with 12 drops of Iosol, correct?

Iosol is 1.8 mg per drop. Lugols 5% is 6.25 mg per drop.

Would suggest (if you're using immune boost 77) a more economical blend at 4 per night rather than one.

MCP has a higher affinity for lead, not mercury so much...However I agree it's an excellent chelator and I think lead is
even worse than mercury for hair.

I've seen some problems with DMSA...that's why the previously mentioned things are a safer start.

A few weeks of chelating means nothing...this is not an "over night process."
