None. MSM is non-toxic. You can even take 1kg a day and there will be zero sideeffects.

One thing to consider if you start to use MSM in the long-term (over year) is that it might deplete your molybdenum levels.

Fuck it im gonna start msm I think, if anything it seems a good 'starter' regieme for someone whos never used topials and stuff before.

Thats guy who said he soaked his head in it, did he mean he like filled a sink up with the mixture and put his head in there for 5 minutes?

What about using it with emu oil as a carrier, specially for facial application?

ROFL!

No he didn't put his head in the sink ^^

"someone asked about his mixture: "Could you please advise approximately how many ounces or grams of MSM and how many grams of DMSO in your mixture?"

and he replied "In a 10 oz. bottle I usually put about 15-20 gms of MSM. I go through about a bottle per week."

Just get a spraybottle and destilled water and put 2 tablespoons pure MSM powder in it and mix it with 300ml destilled water. Then you can spray it easly on your scalp.

You don't need a carrier for msm because MSM can penetrate the skin by itself.

I use msm with caffeine in green tea (fresh brew) .. caffeine is really good, only topped by thymuskin as far my experience so far. But dont overdose - which can be done easily-

Whats this about?12 weeks?
Side effects with MSM are rare but may include stomach upset, headache and diarrhea. One study suggested MSM was safe for up to 12 weeks.

I've just started 1g of Vitamin C + bioflavonoids complex combined with 1g of MSM everyday to help the recovery from gynecomastia surgery and maybe prepare myself for my FUE. I'll let you know if it does anything hairwise Smile.

1g of MSM will do nothing for you hair. You should take 15g to 20g!

Yeah I would empty the bottle in two days, which is 18 (for 2 months supply if i take it as directed), so 300 a month, seems reasonable just for MSM.

Don't tell me "you can buy it cheaper on the web", I don't buy supplements on the internet, it's not safe.

Why not? What's the difference between bottle in the store and bottle let's say on iherb? Dont mean to provocate you, but i've never thought abuses are likely to happen. Also dont think it would pay off to supplier on the long term...

Sorry, but this does not convince me anything. It's the same in our country so if you want to sell the supps, you should register it and let the market inspectorate and medical inspectorate check the quality of the product. I highly doubt that ''medical inspectorate'' can determine if the quality of the product is good, specially on the products with new medical/herbal science behind. So they are more or less limited to test it for the poisons (what about the dosage??). They sure don't put it in their mouth, and also highly doubt they read scientific literature on it. Maybe somebody else can tell opinion about it.

I think this is a paper you need to get (paper not service) if you want to sell the stuff, but i might be wrong. You pay to the same department that allows to sell all the poisonous food, you can find in your local market anyway.

So, what they test:

The samples were tested in different groups of chemical parameters:
pollutants (heavy metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), ochratoxin
A, dioxins and furans and dioxin-like PCBs, PCB),
content prohibited ingredients (sibutramine, sildenafil, tadalafil),
compliance with the use of additives (colorants, preservatives)
substance content (lutein)
content of the products of irradiation.
Two specimens collected at import, were also tested in microbiological pollutants intwo samples taken while the consistency check only indications.

I am not impressed. At least at our land it's this way. Hope in yours is way different...

Weird that it costs so much!

MSM is so cheap in Canada. I literally payed 8 dollars for 260 pills of 1g each from a local health food store up the street.

Very interesting Ferox, thanks for posting.

CS is right, of course. MSM is a great source of sulfur, which is the # 1 ingredient for hair growth.

It makes sense that if you are low in it (which many folks with high toxcity would be, and also Magensium) it could make a big difference.

Come to think of it I went through a very good period recently using 2 -3 gms of MSM per day.

I generally do not like to purchase in stores, because you're also paying for their roof and taxes, etc.

I've never had a problem on the Internet. Anyway, regarding dosing of MSM, very little is known about the actual
max benefit for humans.

Some research published earlier in the year dosages of what amounts to the human equivalent 3 to 4 grams per day in rats showed a dose dependent decrease in the loss of cartilage in the knee joints for osteoarthritis. In other words, as little as 3 grams might be risky.

And at mega doses in the 30 to 40 gram range show significant losses of body, liver, and spleen weight.

Also, don't forget, high dose MSM will lead to a deficiency of molybdenum!

If there is anything to the speculation of benefits to MSM, beyond the sulfur component, which like other minerals is crucial, theoretically (yet to be proven, as the info is in vitro), MSM acts on IGF-1 signalling.

Would keep the dosages moderate and still supplement with other minerals for balance.

Price wise, this is the stuff I use when I use it.

I've read on CureZone that MSM(or anything sulfur) can exacerbate candida? Would that really be a problem?

Post  MilBA on Thu Dec 06, 2012 11:04 am

I've found my hair always grows faster when I take MSM, but I've never seen any regrowth from it. Perhaps I could try it topically or at higher doses.

Any chance of toxicity when mega dosing?
