So should we be getting excited about pig oil?

I am seriously about to order some and slather it over my head. Please let me know if I should a buy or avoid certain pig oils and if there are anything I need to be concerned about.

Do you know how many things can grow hair on mice? There must be a million things. Mice are invinicble to hairloss. It simply doesn't translate into human terms. But hey, it can't hurt to try pig oil. It's cheap. But don't get your hopes up high...unless you have whiskers and a fondness for cheese.

Also, I'm losing faith in a lot of these "researchers" who can't even bother trying something so harmless as bacon fat on a balding HUMAN head instead of always reaching for their tried and true research mice. C'mon you scientists, do us a favour and use real people for specimens.

If those pics are real, I'm just amazed. Any opinions?

Has anyone ever try this for a long period of time? The thread was 2013 old.

Yeah, 2013 and no success stories with lard spreading like wildfire since then. Notice the red blood-like colour on his scalp in the second pic? Maybe he was derma-rolling? Derma-rolling alone can cause some hair growth due to stimulation. And most of all...who does a study with JUST ONE PERSON???? Couldn't find another baldy in town? Really....what were they thinking?

How can u even think about it to be a cure?

Last thing we need now is to try all kinds of animal oils. I think we should now start experimenting with each one like "dog Oil", Cat oil, pig oil(ofcourse), mosquito oil and so on.. One of them might work for someone and then we will have real cure for sure. Very Happy

From another forum I am a member of, not a hair loss forum, but for sharing experiences doing the Tibetan Five Rites exercises (lots of info about them on the Web). This guy experienced hair regrowth from doing the exercises and massaging his scalp with butter, as recommended in an old edition of the book about the Five Rites, Eye of Revelation. To quote him on this:

All it says is to massage your scalp with a good piece of butter
twice a week about an hour after a meal (I did it whenever I felt
like it, not after a meal, and got results). It says to use
butter that was fresh without salt (I used salted butter). It explains
that nutrients were brought to the scalp and that the massaged scalp
picked up more nutrients and the hair grows.

I truly did not expect this to work. Just did it as an experiment.
I'm selling my Rogaine stock and buying Land O'Lakes.

I don't think my results
are spectacular. My hair line is still very "weak." I have only
spotted a few new hairs growing there. But on the crown of my head
(which I have been treating the longest) there is a lot of new hair

I eat a typical American diet consisting primarily of TV dinners
(I'm a bachelor so I get to do stuff like that). I do eat a raw egg
most days. I also take digestive enzymes.

I used to be able to touch bare skin on
the top of my head. No longer. And I have spotted a couple more
fledgling hairs in the hair line--although it seems to be coming in
very slowly up front. But we aren't talking fuzz here.

It will be hard for anyone who hasn't experienced the remarkable
benefits from the rites to actually accept that Kelder may have
known what he was talking about when it comes to hair regrowth. I
didn't believe it! I just did it as an experiment and I felt rather
foolish doing it--until the hair started coming back.

"Kelder" is the author of this book that outlines the Rites and other antiaging measures:

Keep in mind that the guy quoted was doing the exercises along with the butter massage.

Butter does have a lot of good stuff in it.  Yay  Very Happy

Butter, eh? I wonder about margerine or even shortening with heavily hydrogenated veg oils. Margerine and shortening never go bad or spoil. Even insects aren't attracted to it. Maybe it would be good for our scalps in an antibiotic way. No bacteria or mold would be able to survive in that environment.

You're joking, right? From the page I linked to:
http://chetday.com/healthybutter.htm

All margarines are made from assorted vegetable oils that have been heated to extremely high temperatures. This insures that the oils will become rancid. After that, a nickel catalyst is added, along with hydrogen atoms, to solidify it. Nickel is a toxic heavy metal and amounts always remain in the finished product. Finally, deodorants and colorings are added to remove margarine's horrible smell (from the rancid oils) and unappetizing grey color.

And if that is not enough, in the solidification process, harmful trans-fatty acids are created which are carcinogenic and mutagenic. What would you rather have: a real food with an abundance of healthful qualities or a stick of carcinogenic, bleached, and deodorized slop?

If that sounds like a good thing to you, go crazy affraid

See, I told you that these hair-growth-inhibiting bacteria and fungi wouldn't want to hang around in it lol.

not sure why anyone would try this, from all of what I have read any oil clogs the hari shaft and inhibits hair growth, increases hair loss
