Any experience with IP6
CS or anyone, have you had any experience with IP6 and/or what are your thoughts? It appears to have very positive testimonials on the internet and I'm just a click away from ordering some but it sounds almost too good to be true.
I'm not planning on taking it for MPB but for overall health and as a preventative for cancer.
Here's a link describing IP6 http://www.naturalnews.com/025975.html
Thanks.

Re: Any experience with IP6
Here is another link with some very interesting info regarding IP6 and a very interesting quote
http://www.naturalnews.com/024635.html
"IP6 is more than a cancer treatment
In addition to the anti-cancer benefits of IP6, ongoing research is revealing its promise as a treatment for diabetes, depression, osteoporosis, heart disease, and kidney stones.
A very recent study reported in the Journal of Toxicology considered the effect of IP6 on Parkinson's Disease. Disrupted iron metabolism and excess iron accumulation has been reported in the brains of Parkinson's patients. Because excessive iron can induce oxidative stress and result in neuronal degradation in Parkinson patients, researchers sought to determine the protective effect of IP6, a natural chelator of iron. They found a 45% reduction in DNA fragmentation with the use of IP6, and protection in the differentiated cells. They concluded that IP6 offered a significant neuro-protective effect."

Re: Any experience with IP6
jdp710 - I was similarly intrigued by IP6 and we had a bit of discussion on it several months ago. Short story shorter, I have "a ton" of bottles of IP6. I haven't noticed a difference after using for them for some months. However, I concluded that in my case, it's probably because I regularly and consistently take stabilized R-Lipoic acid, which acts as chelator of iron so my iron related oxidative stress is pretty low to begin with. To make a short story longer, I'm a bad case subject for IP-6.

Re: Any experience with IP6
We talked about it a few months back when I brought up a study that showed that reducing iron levels has more effect on insulin sensitivity than diet does. So reducing iron, however you can do it (blood donation, ip6, alpha lipoic) will do a lot more good for your insulin sensitivity than going on a low-carb diet, or whatever diet claims to help insulin sensitivity.
I still haven't found any studies that have shown how much IP6 helps reduce iron stores. I took it for a few months as well, and didn't feel any different. However, one day I had an issue where when I stood up after sitting for 10 minutes, I got really lightheaded, which could of been a case of low iron. Did IP6 lower my iron so low that I started getting lightheaded? I don't know, I really hope it is that effective, I can't afford another blood test to find out. Dr. Mercola claims that IP6 is more effective than blood donation, but I'm not sure about that. I would be donating blood but they won't let me cause I came in contact with someone's blood in a fight so I can't donate for a year
