PM TOPICAL?

Post  Gibson on Thu May 21, 2009 1:26 am

Has this been explored?

If so, cream or spray?

I'm very tempted to try it. Personally, from past experience, I will not use PM internally, but I can see it jiving topically.

Any shared experience, or thoughts are appreciated.

I will be adding it to my shampoo. I believe it does have benefits for the scalp topically. However, I cannot elaborate on it exactly.

Thanks for the response. As these things seem to go, I will just have to try it I suppose.

Hopefully, I can collect some more data before I take the plunge.

Gibson - Nid sent me a before/after photo of a guy using just topical Pueraria Mirifica and it look pretty solid to me. Those liquid extracts look like a cinch to add into an SLS-free shampoo maybe with a dash of DMSO.

However, you guys have to be careful here...

The before-and-after photo that I sent to IH was of Puresterol. I don't trust any other liquid extract. Puresterol is Dr. Sandford Schwartz's liquid PM, and he is pretty much THE go-to guy when it comes to PM and PM research.

This is what we're using in the Primordial Performance topical trial, at the proper concentration as well, and in proper solution with an agent to facilitate absorption through the scalp skin. Messing with pill powders is not something that I'd advise. Two viable options are to either contact Dr. Sandy directly and get ahold of his PM formula, or join the Primordial Performance topical trial, which is now completely free to join, and get your topical PM fix there:

PM TOPICAL?

Post  Crusher on Thu May 21, 2009 9:48 am

Swimmy, in my opinion the residence time is much to short when you use it
in a shampoo. Topical PM should stay over night on your scalp.

Considering this the question is what would be a good vehicle/carrier oil,
Jojoba-oil, Emu-oil? Any ideas?

The next question is to found out the right concentration.
ainterolherbs recommendation is to put maximal 5 % in a 100 ml bottle =>

Perhaps a spray of PM, I like the idea in terms of convenience. Gibson is trying this, so looking forward to feedback in the future.

Hey nid,

Is everyone in the HairGen trial going to get PM now? and at the same concentration? or is it still going to be random?

Thanks.

Hey Hapy,

I think it's going to be 0/1/2% still, have to go over this with Eric, but I just wanted to isolate the PM a bit and see if it adds more to the formula or not.

Haha, well, I'd anticipate good results with or without the PM. I know someone that didn't get any results from Dr. Sandy's topical PM, which is the reason I really wanted to get a formula without it as well to test just the standard formula against the PM ya know?

I don't trust the quality of Ainterol's PM Extract after what Eric told me his thoughts were on it. I sent him a sample of the Ainterol PM, Puresterol, and another extract from Thailand, and he thought the Puresterol seemed to be the best consistency and most legitimate looking and suspected that the Ainterol had Tween-20 in it. He's going to run actual tests on the batches but that was his opinion.

Sounds good. I agree there is enough other beneficial ingredients. I am really excited about starting the trial and thanks for working to get all this together. Any chance you can find out more information on how they are making the formulation. I remember them talking about liposomal conditioned medium or something like that. Just curious if you had any more technical information on what it is or what is in it.

Thanks again.

Ah damn.

I would so totally do it. From the ingredients I read awhile back it sounds promising especially if they can get it going in liposomal form which I would gladly pay more for. However, I plan on doing the A&G thing which will last for 3 month. So that would interfere with trial results
